A French fighter intercepted a stolen passenger plane that had flown over Toulon military naval base having been stolen from Italy by a man claiming to be Slovakian and wearing no shoes. Airspace over Nice was closed briefly on Wednesday morning due to the incident, which ended when the hijacker landed the aircraft at Aix-Les-Milles airfield and was arrested without resistance. The People of Arua and Westnile Region Have Expressed Discomfort Over the Sacking of Mr Adomati Dickson from Deputy RCC Job.

A section of people comprising of some leaders from Westnile region have expressed their discomfort over the removal of Mr Adomati, whom many people believe he was fought by some few individuals who felt he should just not be the Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Arua City because of his strict policies and no nonsense man character. Mr Adomati,  whom many people in WestNile call as "Diso" , was appointed in that position by President Museveni on July-2021. Before he could serve for even a year in that chaotic City of Arua, a national reshuffle was done and it resulted into his sacking from that office. Below here is the discomfort pleasure the people of Westnile Region have expressed through a WhatsApp group called "VOICE OF WESTNILE". A general view inside the Court of Final Appeal (CFA) in Hong Kong [File: Tyrone Siu] Published On 30 Mar 202230 Mar 2022 The UK government has announced that its judges will no longer sit on Hong Kong’s top court over opposition to China’s national security law, with two Supreme Court judges resigning immediately. “The situation has reached a tipping point where it is no longer tenable for British judges to sit on Hong Kong’s leading court, and would risk legitimising oppression,” Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said on Wednesday. “We have seen a systematic erosion of liberty and democracy in Hong Kong,” she said, noting the authorities had “cracked down on free speech, the free press and free association” since the security law was imposed in 2020. Truss said she had reached the decision to withdraw the judges fro

Rwanda Denies Supporting M23 Rebels in Fighting Congo.

Democratic Republic of Congo's army on Monday, saying it was not involved in any "belligerent activities" in its vast neighbor. Heavy fighting erupted in eastern Congo early on Monday and went on through the day when fighters from the M23 rebel group attacked army positions near the border with Uganda and Rwanda. Congo said the M23 were backed by Rwandan soldiers, two of whom it said it had captured. Authorities in Rwanda said in a statement that, "this is an attempt to manipulate opinion by presenting two individuals arrested under obscure circumstances more than a month ago, as elements captured in the fighting on 28 March."  U.N. investigators have previously accused Rwanda and Uganda of supporting the group, which both countries have denied. #Opinion; The Promotion of Swahili Language to be Taught, Spoken in the Community and Schools in Uganda is in Bad Faith.

This is an article initially published in 2015 and again in 2019. Here again it is. #We #inform the #uninformed. ………………………………………….…………………………………………………………………………. About 3000 years ago,  the Indian ocean was busy with wooden boats carrying traders from Arabia, Persia, and north-western India to the east African coast for trade in ivory, slaves, spices, etc. Later the Phonicians, Romans and Greeks also joined the trade. Its the Arabs who opted to settle on the East African coast. After the death of Prophet Mohamed in 632 AD, the spread of Islam coupled by internal wars led to Arab Muslims to settle on the East African cost. Many indigenous African people of the East African Coast (Somalia to northern Mozambique) adopted Islam. Islam coupled by intermarriages between Arabs and the indigenous people of the East African cost gave rise to the Swahili people. Swahili comes from the Arabic word word Swahil which means boundary, coast thus coastal dwellers. The prefix Ki – is attached to make it K

As Uganda's Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Oulanyah's Burial is Set to Cost Shs 2.5b ($695,850) and Some People are Making Noise Over it, Here are Some of the Expensive Graves in the World.

Death is something no one born of a woman can actually escape because it’s part of life, something that everybody has to live with it whether we like it or not. We’ve also seen the wealthy succumb to it, and the strong and powerful, it’s only fitting that we’re ever ready to respond to their call when the time is due, because it certainly a will, just that all timing varies. One most important thing to human beings is that they have grasped the idea of living and even dying by doing so they plan for themselves a final resting place after their departure on this earth. They do So by having a very lavish coffin, some in a way that respects their lagacy by decorating their own graves on this earth before they die. The Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, which has now been known as the most costly tomb in the whole world, does not, however, succeed in any amount of decoration. King Khufu, who happens to be the Pharoah of Egypt in the year 2589 B. C. , was been buried under th

QUITTING HOUSEMAID JOB AND THE LAW.

#legallyhers  Earlier we talked about Prossy a 16-year-old maid whose boss has been ‘cutting’ her pay for broken glasses and plates. What’s worse is that even aunty does not allow her to go see home to visit her sick mother even when the children break off for holidays, mbu the holiday is auntie’s time to rest so she cannot be cooking and looking after children. Aunty has told her that if she asks for any time off, she will even cut off the money for the month. WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY? First of all, Prossy is below 18 years of age and the law says that the minimum age for employment is 18 years.  If a child should be engaged in work for pay, then they should be at least 16 years and the work should not interfere with their education. However, a person below the age of 14 years can be engaged in light work under supervision of an adult, this work should not interfere with their education and should not be more than 14 hours a week. Therefore, with the nature of domestic work and the hours

Alert ⚠️; Hackers Hijack Email Reply Chains.

A new email phishing campaign has been spotted leveraging the tactic of conversation hijacking to deliver the IcedID info-stealing malware onto infected machines by making use of unpatched and publicly-exposed Microsoft Exchange servers. "The emails use a social engineering technique of conversation hijacking (also known as thread hijacking)," Israeli company Intezer said in a report shared with The Hacker News. "A forged reply to a previous stolen email is being used as a way to convince the recipient to open the attachment. This is notable because it increases the credibility of the phishing email and may cause a high infection rate." The latest wave of attacks, detected in mid-March 2022, is said to have targeted organizations within energy, healthcare, law, and pharmaceutical sectors. IcedID, aka BokBot, like its counterparts TrickBot and Emotet, is a banking trojan that has evolved to become an entry point for more sophisticated threats, including human-operate

WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY ABOUT HOUSEMAIDS ?.

#legallyhers  Although Prossy was 16 years old, the lockdown taught her one thing quickly, hunger did not discriminate against age. So, she left the village and came to Kampala to work as a house maid in someone’s big house after the last maid ran away with ‘auntie’s phone. Even though she eats every day, and life is better, the aunty still ‘cuts’ her money whenever a plate or glass is broken in the house. Even if this is done by auntie’s children who are dozing in the morning as Prossy prepares them for school. WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY ABOUT HOUSE ‘HELPS’? The employment law says that an employee is a person who agrees to carry out work for another person in return for receiving payment from that person. Therefore, as long as you have a house help (maid) who you pay to do work at home, and who works under your instructions for money, then this person is an employee. The law also says that it is illegal to deduct the salary of an employee except for payments like taxes and NSSF and things

Charles Rwomushana; People fear to confront this evil of tribalism in Buganda.

By   Charles Rwomushana  .  I have shared similar sentiments before.  People fear to confront this evil in Buganda because their Baganda Gangs have mastered the art of insults.  This wickedness we confront is organised and with a known leadership.  It's financed.  It had organised to do violence, mass violence under the Organisation of "People Power " Fortunately they beat Museveni people who out of panic did some commendable job although  he wasn't thorough.  The Buganda leadership at all levels is involved.  Have you heard anyone condemn the assault on Kusasira who had come for burial? None.  They never condemned the assault on JJ Odong, then Minister of Internal Affairs, who had gone to burry his police officer Kirumira. They were never condemned.  No where has evil ever triumphed.  They must fail and they will extinguish.  They are not necessarily a very strong force to isolate and defeat.  They will be defeated.  Mr Owiny Dollo, thanks for your courage.  Don'

Russia Invasion in Ukraine; Chinese Hackers Join the War, Backs Up Russia.

Chinese Hacking Group A Chinese-speaking threat actor called Scarab has been linked to a custom backdoor dubbed HeaderTip as part of a campaign targeting Ukraine since Russia embarked on an invasion last month, making it the second China-based hacking group after Mustang Panda to capitalize on the conflict. "The malicious activity represents one of the first public examples of a Chinese threat actor targeting Ukraine since the invasion began," SentinelOne researcher Tom Hegel said in a report published this week. SentinelOne's analysis follows an advisory from Ukraine's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-UA) earlier this week outlining a spear-phishing campaign that leads to the delivery of a RAR archive file, which comes with an executable that's designed to open a decoy file while stealthily dropping a malicious DLL called HeaderTip in the background. Scarab was first documented by the Symantec Threat Hunter Team, part of Broadcom Software, in January 2015,

Students Send Death Threats to Teachers, as School Adminstrators Blame Strikes on Covid-19, Opium and Alcohol.

In a meeting held today 26-3-2022 attended by head masters, teachers, parents and councillors in Terego District, post Covid-19 effects and drug abuse are cited to be the causes of Strikes. While speaking, the head master for Wandi Progressive Secondary School, Mr Ojaku Eric gave an example where, students wanted to strike in that evening of AFCON Cup finals. He said, after evening studies that ended at 9pm, the students began shouting on the compound, protesting they will cause havoc if the administration does not allow them to watch AFCON cup finals. Due to the rising tension that evening, the teachers called him on phone saying the students want to strike over watching football. He said, he had to come to school that night and instructed the teachers to abide by what the students were commanding. Since that same day was also the day when the students elected their new school p
