CAN I SUE MY MAID FOR NOT RETUNING AFTER CHRISTMAS ?.

Today Mama Goloba’s maid was supposed to be returning from the village. Before leaving, Mama Goloba paid the maid all her money and even did Christmas shopping for her family. So she was disappointed when she called, and the maid told her that she had decided to stay in the village and get married. Mama Goloba wants to know if she can sue the maid because she was supposed to work for another two years.    THE LAW SAYS: By law, a housemaid is also an employee, and you who employ this maid are an employer. This means that as an employee, the maid has the same rights as any other employee. For example, they are entitled to annual leave. They are also allowed to end the employment relationship when they get tired of being employed.     This means you do not have the right to sue your maid for quitting because it is not convenient for you. And it is also illegal to deduct their pay because you did not like how they quit. 📷: The Observer Source BareFootLaw

New Malvertising Campaign via Google Ads Targets Users Searching for Popular Software.

Users searching for popular software are being targeted by a new malvertising campaign that abuses Google Ads to serve trojanized variants that deploy malware, such as Raccoon Stealer and Vidar. The activity makes use of seemingly credible websites with typosquatted domain names that are surfaced on top of Google search results in the form of malicious ads by hijacking searches for specific keywords. The ultimate objective of such attacks is to trick unsuspecting users into downloading malevolent programs or potentially unwanted applications. In one campaign disclosed by Guardio Labs, threat actors have been observed creating a network of benign sites that are promoted on the search engine, which when clicked, redirect the visitors to a phishing page containing a trojanized ZIP archive hosted on Dropbox or OneDrive. "The moment those 'disguised' sites are being visited by targeted visitors (those who actually click on the promoted search result) the server imme

Facebook to Pay $725 Million to settle Lawsuit Over March-2018 Cambridge Analytica Data Scandal.

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has agreed to pay $725 million to settle a long-running class-action lawsuit filed in 2018. The legal dispute sprang up in response to revelations that the social media giant allowed third-party apps such as those used by Cambridge Analytica to access users' personal information without their consent for political advertising. The proposed settlement, first reported by Reuters last week, is the latest penalty paid by the company in the wake of a number of privacy mishaps through the years. It still requires the approval of a federal judge in the San Francisco division of the U.S. District Court. It's worth noting that Facebook previously sought to dismiss the lawsuit in September 2019, claiming users have no legitimate privacy interest in any information they make available to their friends on social media. The data harvesting scandal, which came to light in March 2018, involved a personality quiz app call

FrodoPIR: New Privacy-Focused Database Querying System.

The developers behind the Brave open-source web browser have revealed a new privacy-preserving data querying and retrieval system called FrodoPIR. The idea, the company said, is to use the technology to build out a wide range of use cases such as safe browsing, scanning passwords against breached databases, certificate revocation checks, and streaming, among others. The scheme is called FrodoPIR because "the client can perform hidden queries to the server, just as Frodo remained hidden from Sauron," a reference to the characters from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. PIR, short for private information retrieval, is a cryptographic protocol that enables users (aka clients) to retrieve a piece of information from a database server without revealing to its owner which element was selected. EIGHT LESSONS FROM TALENT IS NEVER ENOUGH BY JOHN MAXWELL.

1. Talent Is Not Enough  "Talent is often overrated and frequently misunderstood. French poet and dramatist Edouard Pailleron pointed out, “Have success and there will always be fools to say that you have talent.” When people achieve great things, others often explain their accomplishments by simply attributing everything to talent. But that is a false and misleading way of looking at success. If talent alone is enough, then why do you and I know highly talented people who are not highly successful?"  2. Everyone Has A Talent  "People have equal value, but not equal giftedness. Some people seem to be blessed with a multitude of talents. Most of us have fewer abilities. But know this: all of us have something that we can do well. In their book Now, Discover Your Strengths, Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton state that every person is capable of doing something better than the next ten thousand people. And they support that assertion with solid research. They call thi
