The Deputy Resident District Commissoner for Arua District, Mr Ezama Ham Mizamil has on Thursday morning 11-May-2023 restored sanity amongst aggrieved parties in a land conflict. Mr Ocama Musa who is the complainant, accused Mr Jino Ocima over trespassing. The complainant Mr Musa accused Mr Jino for trespassing into his land in 2020 and reported the matter to Community Liaison Officer (CLO) for management but to date, the matter has not been settled. The individuals, one woman and six men were reportedly found drinking alcohol during the funeral instead of paying their respects to the deceased. According to the video, the group was rounded up by members of the community and caned as punishment for their absence. Each of the individuals received more than two canes in front of a crowd of community members. The video has sparked outrage among residents, who are calling for an investigation into the matter.
