Zaweze has been working at the same place for the last 5 years. Last month, his boss has introduced office lunch for all staff. Zaweze was attracted by the buffet on offer and has since not missed a single meal. ON the 25th of the month, he was surprised to find that his usual 600,000 salary was less by 200,000. A joint four-month operation coordinated by Interpol, the international criminal police organization, has culminated in the arrests of more than 1,000 cybercriminals and the recovery of $27 million in illicit proceeds. Codenamed "HAECHI-II," the crackdown enabled law enforcement units from across 20 countries, as well as Hong Kong and Macao, close 1,660 cases alongside blocking 2,350 bank accounts linked to the fraudulent illicit funds amassed from a range of online financial crimes, such as romance scams, investment fraud, and money laundering associated with illegal online gambling. "The results of Operation HAECHI-II show that the surge in online financial crime generated by the COVID-19 pandemic shows no signs of waning," said Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock in a press statement issued on November 26. China Takes Over Uganda's International Airport, Other Country's Assets Over $207million Unpaid Loan Deal The Museveni-led Ugandan government had on Tuesday, 17 November 2015, signed an agreement with Exim Bank to borrow $207 million at two per cent upon disbursement. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is stepping down as chief of the social media company, effective immediately. Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s chief technology officer, will take over the helm, the company said Monday. Shares of Twitter were down about half a percent before noon on Monday. Dorsey, 45, was serving as both the CEO of Twitter and Square, his digital payments company. Dorsey will remain a member of the board until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders, the company said. Salesforce President and COO Bret Taylor will become the chairman of the board, succeeding Patrick Pichette, a former Google executive, who will remain on the board as chair of the audit committee. “I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders,” Dorsey said in a statement, though he didn’t provide any additional detail on why he decided to resign. Israel's Ministry of Defense has dramatically restricted the number of countries to which cybersecurity firms in the country are allowed to sell offensive hacking and surveillance tools to, cutting off 65 nations from the export list. This evening 5:05pm Saturday 27-11-2021 as i decided to board a public taxi that was heading to Arua, from Moyo District, reaching around Kijoro Poo before slowing down to River Enze Bridge, the Traffic Police officers of Marach District who often stage their roadblock around that place,  stopped the taxi we were driving in. The driver started wondering why would these officers stop the taxi! On stopping,  the smiling  traffic officer and the police, a one called Drambele who are both attached to Maracha District Central Police Station (CPS) picked and brought for the driver a banana they had bought for themselves. The driver received the banana with thanks. The passengers in the car were all excited and thankful for the love and character exhibited by the two officers. At least 9.3 million Android devices have been infected by a new class of malware that disguises itself as dozens of arcade, shooter, and strategy games on Huawei's AppGallery marketplace to steal device information and victims' mobile phone numbers. The mobile campaign was disclosed by researchers from Doctor Web, who classified the trojan as "Android.Cynos.7.origin," owing to the fact that the malware is a modified version of the Cynos malware. Of the total 190 rogue games identified, some were designed to target Russian-speaking users, while others were aimed at Chinese or international audiences. Once installed, the apps prompted the victims for permission to make and manage phone calls, using the access to harvest their phone numbers along with other device information such as geolocation, mobile network parameters, and system metadata. Web hosting giant GoDaddy on Monday disclosed a data breach that resulted in the unauthorized access of data belonging to a total of 1.2 million active and inactive customers, making it the third security incident to come to light since 2018. In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the world's largest domain registrar said that a malicious third-party managed to gain access to its Managed WordPress hosting environment on September 6 with the help of a compromised password, using it to obtain sensitive information pertaining to its customers. It's not immediately clear if the compromised password was secured with two-factor authentication. The Arizona-based company claims over 20 million customers, with more than 82 million domain names registered using its services. Moses Byaruhanga, the presidential advisor on political affairs, has revealed that arrangements are being undertaken for Arua Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Alice Akello, to be arraigned in court over corruption. 'I have spoken to her supervisors. She will be arrested,' he said, adding that Akello committed a criminal act when she solicited for facilitation from the business community in Arua to run her office. 'The money you are soliciting for, is it going to the consolidated fund? That's corruption.' Under Ugandan law, all revenue and funds must be paid into the Consolidated Fund from which money is withdrawn to fund all activities of government. Police have announced the return of the Flying Squad, violent crime crack unit that was recently moved to the Crime Intelligence Directorate. According to the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, after a three months refresher training course , all the Flying Squad unit operatives have been redeployed. “The unit is back after undergoing a fresher training course and a total of 120 personnel who successfully completed the course in countering gun violence, sophisticated crimes, counter terrorism and intelligence,”Enanga said.
