ANDROID 13 IS ONE OF THE WEAKEST UPDATES IN ANDROID HISTORY.

Android 13 was released on August 16 and is a version that is full of small new features, especially if you own a Google Pixel. However, for me, this version has left me with a mixed feeling. I no longer have the impression that this version is anything more than a minor update to Android 12 after using it for more than three months. Alternatively, Android 13 should have been Android 12.1 or somthing similar. Android 13 has mostly limited itself to following the road that Google began with Android 12, making it appear to be the weakest and most boring of all the Android updates. Android 12 was the update that fully overhauled the operating system with Material You. However, this is already typical. Android has already developed to such a high level of maturity that it will get harder and harder for it to surprise us with new features. Android 13 main features One of Android 13’s most notable features is personalization, which makes it seem as though it was made specifically for us. Thi

An autistic man was surfing the internet on his dad’s sofa. Then the FBI turned up to Arrest Him.

By Stephanie Clifford. I f you read Brandon Fleury a story when he was three, he’d recite it back to you word for word. His father Patrick, then a professional tennis coach, was both bemused and impressed by his physically awkward son. He would tell people about Brandon’s capacity for mimicry – eventually he found himself explaining it to a jury. Brandon had a tough childhood. One night when he was five and lying in bed with his mother, she had a pulmonary embolism and died. Fleury became a full-time single dad to Brandon and his younger brother. Brandon had always needed extra attention, but after his wife died  Fleury began to pick up on more unusual elements of his son’s behaviour . A girl from the neighbourhood would pull him around in a wagon “like he was a puppy”; Brandon seemed uneasy with it yet unable to articulate his discomfort. At their home in Santa Ana, California, he would repeat phrases and questions over and over again, or open and shut doors repeatedly. So

Ukraine Hit with New Golang-based 'SwiftSlicer' Wiper Malware in Latest Cyber Attack.

Ukraine has come under a fresh cyber onslaught from Russia that involved the deployment of a previously undocumented Golang-based data wiper dubbed  SwiftSlicer . ESET attributed the attack to Sandworm, a nation-state group linked to Military Unit 74455 of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU). "Once executed it deletes shadow copies, recursively overwrites files located in %CSIDL_SYSTEM%\drivers, %CSIDL_SYSTEM_DRIVE%\Windows\NTDS and other non-system drives and then reboots computer," ESET  disclosed  in a series of tweets. The overwrites are achieved by using randomly generated byte sequences to fill 4,096 byte-length blocks. The intrusion was discovered on January 25, 2023, the Slovak cybersecurity company added. Sandworm, also tracked under the monikers BlackEnergy, Electrum, Iridium, Iron Viking, TeleBots, and Voodoo Bear, has a history of staging  disruptive and destructive cyber campaigns  targeting

British Cyber Agency Warns of Russian and Iranian Hackers Targeting Key Industries.

The U.K. National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on Thursday warned of spear-phishing attacks mounted by Russian and Iranian state-sponsored actors for information-gathering operations. "The attacks are not aimed at the general public but targets in specified sectors, including academia, defense, government organizations, NGOs, think tanks, as well as politicians, journalists and activists," the NCSC said. The agency attributed the intrusions to SEABORGIUM (aka Callisto, COLDRIVER, and TA446) and APT42 (aka ITG18, TA453, and Yellow Garuda). The similarities in the modus operandi aside, there is no evidence the two groups are collaborating with each other. The activity is typical of spear-phishing campaigns, where the threat actors send messages tailored to the targets, while also taking enough time to research their interests and identify their social and professional circles. The initial contact is designed to appear innocuous in an attempt to gain their trust and

Action-Oriented Minister Ogwang Gives Police in Katakwi Ultimatum Period to be Professional or Face Consequences for Siding with Land Grabbers.

Minister Ogwang apologized on behalf of President Museveni and the NRM government over unexplained actions of police.   “I am sorry on behalf of H.E The President and NRM gov’t but I assure you this impunity must stop. We can’t continue operating like this as if there is no gov’t. As your leader, I am going to pay all the medical bills of those admitted in the different hospitals,” Ogwang said.   Ogwang wondered why police in the district are failing their constitutional mandate of keeping law and order and instead collaborate to cause insecurity.   Meanwhile, the DPC ASP Damiano Tusime and Deputy RDC for Katakwi Vincent Okwi boycotted the community meeting despite the invite from the Minister.   Meanwhile, the few people said maybe the duo refused to attend the meeting with fears of being beaten or shouted at by the communities around.   The Senior RDC for Katakwi, Rtd Maj Godfrey Katamba is on a one month’s leave.   On record since the Senior RDC for Katakwi left for a on

FBI Says North Korean Hackers Behind $100 Million Theft

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Monday confirmed that North Korean threat actors were responsible for the theft of $100 million in cryptocurrency assets from  Harmony Horizon Bridge  in June 2022. The law enforcement agency attributed the hack to the  Lazarus Group  and  APT38  (aka BlueNoroff, Copernicium, and Stardust Chollima), the latter of which is a North Korean state-sponsored threat group that specializes in financial cyber operations. The FBI further stated the Harmony intrusion leveraged an attack campaign dubbed  TraderTraitor  that was disclosed by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in April 2022. The modus operandi entailed utilizing social engineering tricks to deceive employees of cryptocurrency companies into downloading rogue applications as part of a seemingly benign recruitment effort. "On Friday, January 13, 2023, North Korean cyber actors used RAILGUN, a privacy protocol, to launder over $60 million worth of ethe

via IFTTT Watch the video in this link  https://youtu.be/drlta5p7dX0 The Arua District LC V Chairman Hon Alfred Okuonzi, an ardent member of Rotary Club, who oriented young children on reading after 21-1-2023 Saturday's meeting with Rotary Club of Arua Eco City, said, there are many MPs and Councillors who can't stand up to debate during plenary sessions in Parliament and in various Council Halls in Uganda because of poor English. CAN THE GOVERNMENT SUE ME FOR TELLING LIES TO PEOPLE ABOUT INFRASTRUCTURES (SCHOOLS, ELECTRICITY, AIRFIELDS, HOSPITALS, ROADS) IN THE COUNTRY ?.

Agata has made it a point to fight against the health centre in her village. She makes social media posts about second-hand injections, dirty gloves and empty shelves of tablets. She even told people that the government hospitals use jik and battery water for cleaning wounds. Someone has told her to stop telling lies and that the government might take her to court. Is it true? WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY First, telling lies is never a good idea. In law, spreading lies or false information about someone is known as defamation.  We say that a person has been defamed if Agatha's false statements caused harm to the health centre. If this happens, then the government has a right to take Agatha to court.  This is because the law allows individuals (like you and I) to sue the government, but also allows the government to sue those who wrong it through such illegal acts. So, verify the information that you are going to share with the public, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like heal

Samsung Galaxy Store App Found Vulnerable to Sneaky App Installs and Fraud.

Two security flaws have been disclosed in Samsung's Galaxy Store app for Android that could be exploited by a local attacker to stealthily install arbitrary apps or direct prospective victims to fraudulent landing pages on the web. The issues, tracked as  CVE-2023-21433 and CVE-2023-21434 , were  discovered  by NCC Group and notified to the South Korean chaebol in November and December 2022. Samsung  classified  the bugs as moderate risk and released fixes in version 4.5.49.8 shipped earlier this month. Samsung Galaxy Store, previously known as Samsung Apps and Galaxy Apps, is a dedicated app store used for Android devices manufactured by Samsung. It was launched in September 2009. The first of the two vulnerabilities is CVE-2023-21433, which could enable an already installed rogue Android app on a Samsung device to install any application available on the Galaxy Store. Samsung described it as a case of improper access control that it said has been patched with proper permissions
