Namuli hired a lawyer to defend her when her sister sued her for the property she received from their late mother. She instructed the lawyer to ‘fight’ to the death so that she could show that her sister was just a greedy ‘middle child’. However for the last 6 months, she kept visiting the lawyer who informed her that things were going well and that she would receive the fruits of their efforts soon. It turned out that in June, Namuli lost the case because the lawyer had not been going to court or fling any court documents and her sister has come for the land she ‘won’ in court.  The European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, on Thursday put forward a new law that would force smartphone manufacturers and other electronics makers to equip their devices with a standard USB-C charging port. The proposed legislation is designed to cut waste and make life easier for consumers who would theoretically be able to use one charger for multiple devices. It could have a huge impact on Apple, as the company still uses its own Lightning connector to charge iPhones. The company has recently equipped some iPads and MacBooks with USB-C ports. What ExpressVPN said after the U.S. Justice Department's deferred prosecution agreement disturbed some employees further. The company had known about Dan Gericke's history as a mercenary hacker for the United Arab Emirates. The VPN provider said it had no problem with the former intelligence operative protecting the privacy of its customers.   Today is the International Sign Language Day and we would like to talk about a fair hearing and how it relates to your language.  A right to a fair hearing entitles you to the right to be notified (informed) of the charge being brought against you in a language you clearly understand? On top of this, you have a right to defend yourself by challenging those charges. You can do this in any language you can clearly understand, and your case should not be at a disadvantage just because you cannot use a spoken language.  Sign language is an internationally recognised language for those who are deaf and can also be used by anyone else who is comfortable using it. If you prefer to use sign language, or you only rely on sign language, you can challenge any criminal proceedings against you whether at police, in court for being unfair if they do not provide a competent sign language expert to translate what you are saying or to communicate what the authorities want.  The law says no one should

 The recent mishap in the on-line Banking software have raised more questions than answers regarding the true ownership of the banking software. Sources within the banking industry say that several banks recently experienced issues in the agency/mobile banking platform, whereby those who had taken loans using their mobile banking app and paid using the same platform found themselves maintained as debtors due to failure by the platform to make reconciliations.   In other instances, bank agents retained the money and could not transfer it through the system to the right bank customers, leaving banks counting losses estimated in billions.  Former Director General of Internal Security Organisation (ISO) Frank Kaka Bagyenda is under house arrest. According to security sources, a search was carried out last night at his home where he has been placed under house arrest.   It is said that Col. Kaka Bagyenda is being investigated by a sister security agency for an undisclosed reason. “Yes we mounted a search last night but I am not in position to reveal the details. Wait when the operation is done, details will be made public” a source said. Col. Bagyenda’s problems started two weeks ago when his close associate Amos Rwangomani was arrested from a city restaurant by security operatives and it is said his arrest could be connected to Rwangomani. Col. Bagyenda was dropped as ISO DG in January 2020  and was posted to Angola Uganda’s Ambassador.

Relatives mourning  Bosco Jurua,a 16-year-old saloon operator who was this morning killed by operatives of Uganda Revenue Authority at Arivu trading centre in Vurra Constituency, Arua District. The operatives moved from home to home looking for numberless motorcycles thus shooting the victim who died on spot. They also shot another Afunia Gatrude  for protesting the extra  judicial actions of the army men at the same trading centre in the arm and she is currently undergoing treatment at Arua Regional Referral Hospital The relatives of the deceased are demanding for full compensation from URA and want the operatives prosecuted in courts of law. For example, a person could die while in their sleep, in hospital, in a traffic or road accident, as consequence of a fight, mob justice or even as a result of drowning.  What happens if a person then dies while they are sleeping?
