LAW; CONSENT TO MARRY.

We have spent aloooooot of time taking about the things that make a marriage valid. However none of the ones we have talked about is important as consent.

Simply put, consent means to give permission for something to happen. it means you voluntarily agree to the proposal or desires of another. We can sum it up as using F-R-I-S;

F - It is freely and voluntarily given (Not forced)

R - Reversible (You can change your mind)

I - Informed (Means you know everything you are saying yes to)

S - Specific. (About that thing that is going to happen only)

For example, when say it is reversible, it means you can say yes to a proposal and change your mind at the altar without having the ring forced on your finger. If it is specific consent it does not mean you will be married to your dead husband's brother just because you 'once consented to marry into the family.

Parliament Urges Government to Provide Shs 4 Billion to Media Houses to Run Awareness Campaign on Tourism in Uganda.
