We are not after Shoddy Work - Arua District RDC Owanyi and His Deputy Ezama Ham Warn "MWL" Contractor.

Following a tip off and complains about certain anomalies at Adroyi bridge, Ringili - Andifekundaku road construction project, the Resident District Commissioner Mr George E Owanyi, the Deputy RDC Mr Ezama Ham Muzamil in company of the DISO Mr Elipu Jacob, District Engineer and District Speaker Lawino Buate Single, took some time today 19-9-2022 to supervise the works.

The 980,000,000 Shs project whose contract Ministry of Agriculture awarded to MWL Company Ltd is expected to be finished within six months.

With two months so far elaspsed, coupled with complains of delayed payment of local labourers and the 5 Km road still intact, it leaves many unanswered questions on if the contractor can be able to stretch through the remaining four months, something the RDC, Deputy RDC, DISO and other Arua District officials who visited the site also discussed.

Since the Contractor was absent and believed be basing in Kampala, the District officials have tasked the site engineer of the contractor to travel to Arua immediately and a meeting is scheduled to take place on 30-9-2022.

Parliament Urges Government to Provide Shs 4 Billion to Media Houses to Run Awareness Campaign on Tourism in Uganda.

Parliament also urged Gov’t to provide additional Shs4Bn to UTB to engage international and national media houses in production of positive media stories for improved destination image, following reports of drop in number of tourists from US, Europe and China visiting Uganda.
