Short Answer; No
Better answer; A tenancy is the same as saying ‘BUPANGIISA’ and it means the having or taking (control) of land or property as a tenant. This does not make the tenant the owner of the land or property.
What this means is that a tenant is not just someone with an apartment or a ‘muzigo’. For example, if Magola rents someone’s land to grow sugarcane, this means that Magola has become a tenant on that land because she is temporarily using someone’s land and is not the owner.
The main differentiator is that the tenancy of premises is regulated by the Landlord and Tenant Act while that of land is under the laws governing land.
