We Agreed In The Bush Not To Attack Each Other’s Family; Gen. Saleh, Minister Otafiire Summon Former Minister Nadduli Over Son’s Kidnap.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s chief advisor and young brother Gen. Salim Saleh and the Internal Affairs Minister Rtd. Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafire have summoned former junior Minister in Charge of General Duties Rtd. Maj. Adbul Nadduli over his son’s kidnap.
Nadduli yesterday told theGrapevine that since his son Sulaiman Jakana Nadduli was kidnapped from his home in Makindye Kampala, he has made several efforts to access him in vain.
He called upon his NRA/NRM bush war comrades for assistance.
“I don’t know those young security officers, when my son was kidnapped, I reached out to my former commander Gen. Saleh and my friend Gen. Otafiire for assistance because they know those young military officers who kidnapped my son for reasons which have not been revealed to me,” Nadduli told this website.
He added that during his phone conversation with Gen. Saleh and Gen. Otafiire, he reminded them of the agreement they made in the bush of not attacking each other’s family and that if his son committed any crime, he would have been summoned to the authorities instead of being kidnapped.
Nadduli told theGrapevine that Gen. Saleh and Gen. Otafiire told him that they understood what he is going through given that he lost 4 children during the 1986 bush war who were fighting on the NRA side which was commanded by President Museveni.
Nadduli revealed that in one of the phone conversation, Gen. Saleh summoned him to a meeting which will be attended by Gen. Otafiire and other security officers at an undisclosed place.
Sources in security told theGrapevine that Jakana Nadduli was arrested over his social media statements where he has been attacking powerful government officials, religious leaders and cultural leaders especially Buganda Kingdom premier Charles Peter Mayiga.
He is also accused of inciting people especially Baganda to attack and fight other tribes.
Nadduli told theGrapevine that his son is currently detained at Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) cells at Naguru, a Kampala suburb.
National Unity Platform Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine pleaded for the immediate and unconditional release of Jakana or take him to Courts of law.
