Embattled CAO Walakira Confirms Interdiction of Six Maracha District Officials.

The Chief Administrative Officer for Maracha District, Mr Paul Walakira has today 5-October-2022 confirmed the Interdiction of six District officials; CFO Candia Stephen, District Engineer Ezatia Timothy Maluma, DEO Flavia Osoa, Internal Auditor Abiribale Paul, Clerk of works Ezati Robert and Senior Assistant Engineer Oneti William over shoddy works and mismanagement of government funds at Kololo Seed SS construction work worth Shs 1.9 billion whose project was awarded to ACHORU UNITED TRADERS LTD in 2019 and stalled two years later.

The CAO made the statements when he was asked at the celebration of world teacher's day 5-Oct-2022 function held in Kijomoro Sub-county, Maracha District on why the teachers in the District have not received their salaries for the previous months and yet they have pressing issues and basic needs to cater for in their families.

Mr Walakira blamed the delayed salary payment of teachers on the interdiction of six district officials, whose handover of office was effected on 4-October-2022.

He said, they have however submitted some names to the Ministry for approval to be in the acting positions of those six officials as investigations in their case continues.

In his teacher's day message, Mr Walakira Paul advised the teachers in the District not be extravagant in spending money but rather focus more on saving money and minimizing their expenditure.

The CAO made the people at the function burst into laughter when he said, the other weekend i was in the headlines all over different Media outlets when i was arrested for delaying to effect interdiction of the six officials.

Even some people had not seen me before but they heard, watched or read my name all over the media.
