Power 🆚 Law; Soldier Who Broke Traffic Law in the Middle of Kibuye Roundabout, Points a Gun and Threatened to Shoot Traffic Police Officers.

What you need to know:

The soldier is accused of drawing a gun at a traffic officer who reportedly asked him to remove his vehicle from the middle of Kibuye Roundabout where he had parked and blocked other motorists

Police have arrested a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier after he allegedly attempted to shoot traffic officers on duty in Kampala City.

The soldier identified as number RA 080643 WO1 Herbert Kakama attached to Chief of Training and Recruitment, Mbuya, was arrested Saturday on attempted murder charges after he was disarmed by the traffic officers.

It is alleged that the soldier parked a Toyota Harrier in the middle of Kibuye Roundabout in Katwe Division, Kampala blocking other motorists but when a traffic officer asked him to remove it, he allegedly refused and instead drew a gun in what has seemingly become a common sight on the city roads lately.

An officer from Katwe Police Station who spoke to this publication on conditions of anonymity because he’s not authorised to talk to the media, said an argument ensued after the soldier allegedly "insulted the traffic officer that he was stupid when the officer asked the armed soldier" in plain clothes to remove his car from the middle of the road.

When the traffic officer reportedly attempted to explain to him that parking in the middle of the road was wrong and an offence, the soldier allegedly drew his SMG rifle number UG-UPDF 49001495 at him.

The traffic officer grabbed the gun prompting a scuffle in the middle of the road.

Other traffic officers joined in and they managed to disarm the soldier before apprehending him.

This is one of the many incidents involving UPDF soldiers drawing guns or shooting at traffic officers on road.

In May, soldiers assaulted traffic officers on duty near Mukwano mall in Kampala. The UPDF promised to investigate and punish the suspects but this is yet to happen.

In January this year, soldiers shot a traffic police constable, Robert Mukebezi in the leg before he was rushed to hospital and later amputated.

However, the suspects were never apprehended.

Efforts to get a comment from the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesmen about Sunday morning's incident were futile by press time.

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu. Except the ones attacking him and mocking him forget that in Uganda, now, no National ID (Ndagamuntu), no service.  If you have not been denied registering your child i...

Last week of March, a friend told me to pray for Uganda.  I told him that he was an Idiot and we have prayed for too long and we are still hungry and sick and Jesus is not coming soon to liberate us. He then ignored the STUPID and sent me a picture we all now know.  It got me totally messed up.  This guy was telling me to pray then sends a picture of men bowing down in blood.  He might have meant guns but I blocked him because his utterances of praying for Uganda were misplaced. I unblocked him 3 weeks later and asked him about praying and assassinations.  His reply "eithrr prayers or guns or both". I hate violence with a passion.  So he is now blocked in like FOREVER. Do you feel safe?  Do not feel safe. Uganda regim...
