HON AYAKA ROSE YESTERDAY COMMISSIONED RIVER OKELEA COMMUNITY BRIDGE WORK SHE PERSONALLY FINANCED IN OLUFFE SUB-COUNTY IN MARACHA DISTRICT.
In her effort to ensure community access to services in her district by her people she has today commissioned a community led initiative to fix the bridge swept away by water after heavy rains that destroyed it earlier this year. This comes after communities had been frustrated in their efforts to seek redemption by their local government.
The bridge that used to serve as a nearby connection for access to social services and facilitate trade between the people of Godria and Abora parishes in Oluffe sub county had taken into a nightmare for women and children who had to bring their produce to Oluffe sub county market.
'Hon Ayaka we are extremely happy for your contribution towards fixing this community bridge, and we as the beneficiary communities are going to provide labour to work on this freely' noted Otima Mark an elder who received the contribution on behalf of communities.
Hon Ayaka has promised to lobby for increased funding from Uganda Road Fund to facilitate the works on all community access roads in the district.
'We as mothers are so happy for your assistance, you have really saved us and our children' said a concern resident.
