Arua Deputy RDC Ham Rallies Muslims in WestNile to Embrace Education & Do the Right Things in Order to Build Good Relationship with the Government.

Guest of Honor Mr Ezama Ham, Deputy RDC.

The Deputy Resident District Commissoner for Arua District, Mr Ezama Ham Mizamil has on Saturday 11-March-2023 advised Muslims in Enyau Cell, Kenya Ward in River Oli Division Arua City to do the right things by preaching the truth written in the Quran to cement the moral principles and spiritual guidance for eternity.

The Deputy RDC made the remarks while presiding as Guest of Honour at the closure of AL-BAAB QURANIC Women group who have been undergoing GARA (Islamic Preachings) for over three months in Enyau Cell, Kenya Ward, River Oli Division, Central Division in Arua City.

He said, these days some bad elements in Islamic religion collect people's children under the disguise of teaching them Gara (Islamic Preaching) but in reality, they teach these children different things, child trafficking and worst of it all, some recruit these children into rebel activities as has been the case reported in Ntoroko District last year December 2022 when security arrested ADF rebels, one of them confessed to have come from Arua.

What attracts security officials (Police, UPDF, DISO, RDC) into a Mosque is an ulterior motive by some specific people of such a Mosque, he hinted.

Mr Ham has advised the Muslim clergies to invite security operatives like Police or DISO or RDC to once at a time come attend these Gara preachings or prayers so that they understand and have a clue of what is taking place in these Mosques.

The Deputy RDC also emphasized on the need to Love and Unity amongst Muslims.

Mr Ezama Ham was baffled by the level of hatred, disunity and envy amongst big number of Muslims is alarming.

What makes us to have the confidence to call ourselves the faithfuls when we don't practice what we are taught or what we preach in the Mosques, furious Ham asked.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy RDC pleaded to Muslims to embrace formal education, noting that, there are only few Muslims who are committed and love formal education.

While referring to the recent recruitment of people to join UPDF, Ham said, out of the people he recommended for approval, out of which 75 were successful, only 3 were Muslims.

Mr Ezama said, it is so disgusting when we fully embrace the religious educations and doctrines but we abandon the formal education system henceforth limiting us from applying for other jobs that need qualification of certificate or diploma or degree or masters.

To support this noble initiative, the Deputy RDC gave cash money and pledged cements for the construction of Al-baab Mosque in Kenya Ward, Oli Division, Arua City.

Mr Juma Hamza, the managing director of AL-BAAB QURANIC teaching appealed for resource mobilization from different stakeholders and well wishers to start  construction of this Mosque.

He rallied the children across Arua City to enroll for the Gara (Quranic preaching) at Al-baab, adding that, they offer the teachings for free, unlike in some Mosques in Arua City which he said, teach at a fee.

Mr Juma has asked Arua City authorities to do something to divert sewage water from the City which he said the Authorities have channled it through their School and Mosque, henceforth risking the lives of Children.

Mrs Oyeru Shaban Zubeda a nursing officer in Oli Health Center has expressed her discomfort over the reluctance by many moslem women who don't want to go for regular antenatal care and checkups.

Many women here only want to go to the health center or hospital when they have started to feel pain for delivery, a condition, Nurse Oyeru said, makes it very complicated for such women to deliver babies alive.

She has therefore appealed to the men to encourage their wives to go for regular antenatal checkups.

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu. Except the ones attacking him and mocking him forget that in Uganda, now, no National ID (Ndagamuntu), no service.  If you have not been denied registering your child i...

Parliament Urges Government to Provide Shs 4 Billion to Media Houses to Run Awareness Campaign on Tourism in Uganda.

Parliament also urged Gov’t to provide additional Shs4Bn to UTB to engage international and national media houses in production of positive media stories for improved destination image, following reports of drop in number of tourists from US, Europe and China visiting Uganda. "The National Development Plan targeted to cumulatively attract 281,760 International Tourist arrivals from US, Europe & China but only 67,252 arrivals were registered by the end of the first half of FY 2023/24. The U.S, Europe & China were key target source for leisure tourist who stay longer than business tourists. However, statistics show that international arrivals from the aforementioned areas have continue to drop. The UTB requires Shs4Bn to engage international & national media houses in production of positive tourism stories to improve destination perception in light of recent controversies that shade the destination in a bad light. However, this has remained unfunded,” said La...
