The crime of human trafficking is made up of 2 key aspects with the end result that a person will be exploited (e.g. sexual exploitation, forced labour, slavery or organ removal)
1. AN ACT
- The Recruitment of victims
- Transportation (OF VICTIMS),
- transfer, from one place or one person to another
- harbouring (We mean the sheltering, hiding or securing of the victims in a place)
- Receipt of people (this can be the final buyer or the distributor of people to those final ‘buyers’)
2. THE SPECIFIC MEANS (OF GETTING CONTROL OVER VICTIMS)
- Threats or use of force,
- deception,
- fraud,
- abuse of power,
- or abusing someone's vulnerable condition such as a child by a relative or a teacher, religious leader, etc.)
