Angry Residents Blocked Embattled District Engineer from Exiting Kololo Seed SS, Threatens to Lynch Them.
It was chaotic on Wednesday 17-8-2022 when the angry community at Kololo Seed SS in Tara Sub-County mobilized themselves to block Mr Oneti William, one of the District Officials whose name is also on the interdiction letter, from exiting Kololo Seed SS construction site together with a team of auditors sent from Kampala.

What's happened at Kololo seed SS on Wednesday afternoon 3pm 17-8-2022 was that, we had got some visitors who have come from Kampala.
And these people, were engineers been picked up by the government, the central government to come and assess the work done in Kololo visa vie with the money that we have spent as a government.
But when these people reached there, one of the things these people did was not to report to my office.
And indeed, i was not also aware of their coming.
But according to a letter dated 26-7-2022 a copy of which the CAO refused to share with me about the coming of these people to do some assessment on the Kololo Seed SS project.
But today on the 17th when these visitors came, they went without even going through my office.
They successful ended in the compound of the school, did their assessment, but later when the community learned that there were some people who have entered inside Kololo SS, they came to see who were these people and they also wanted to see whether the RDC authorized these people, because this Kololo Seed SS issue has being making rounds of headlines.
But when they reached there, they realised these people did not come via the office of RDC and in their company was also one of the officials implicated in mismanagement of the funds as far as Kololo SS is concerned.
Having realised this, the community decided to lock the gate and said these people cannot leave unless the RDC reaches the ground here and see where these people are supposed to be here.
And indeed, when i went there, the community received me joyfully and opened the gate. The community said, Mr RDC we have locked at this place because we have seen people who mismanaged our funds, our project are here, coming with people when you are not here.
And that's why we locked this place.
We wanted to know whether these people have come via your office.
And of course, as a leader, I told them, it was a mistake, that it was an oversight for them not to even report to my office that they're coming to do this kind of work. It was also a mistake from my CAO’s office, not to have given me a letter which was written from Ministry, that, we are going to get a visitor to come and do this.
To me, i do not blame my community for blocking these people because these projects are done for the community.
Taking that lead of locking these people who have come to trespass their compound, it was the rightful way because they (Community) are the owners and beneficiaries of the of the project.
And by doing that, they have shown to the government, they own that project.
I thanked them for being vigilant in the community by protecting what us rightfully theirs.
After engagements with them (the Community), i asked them to release these people to go but the community warned them next time to follow the rightful procedures and offices to avoid embarrassment and insecurity to themselves.
