Opinion; All Teachers are Equal.

Following our article about the selective salary increment for Science and Arts teachers in Uganda, we have today 3:44pm 1-Aug-2022 received a telephone call from Dr Elizabeth, a lecturer from Mbale City, who expressed her disappointment with the nepotistic mode of salary enhancement for Science and Arts teachers in the country.

She said, it’s unfair for the same Government we “elected” , to start “selecting” us for salary through bias methods.

Dr Elizabeth stressed that, it is shameful and disgusting to see these kinds of injustices being done to Arts teachers, more over in a government, yet unequal salaries may only be a normal practice between workers of a private Company or Organization, where the mode of payment is based on their own merits.

Uganda is the first country in the World to apply this kind of segregative salary payment to its workers, the Lecturer added.
