Maracha District RDC Mr Festus Ayikobua Urged Mourners to Embrace PDM.

The Resident District Commissioner for Maracha District, Mr Ayikobua Festus has this afternoon 2pm 8-8-2022 advised mourners at the funeral of Mrs Rokoru Magadelena, the mother of Dr Suru Benard who was born on 1934 and died on Saturday 6-Aug-2022 in Endrerebu village, Mundru Parish in Oluffe Sub-county, to embrace Parish Development Model (PDM), a government program that will foster on alleviating poverty in the Parishes.
He said, it's a disappointment for some people to blame government over the level of poverty and hunger in the villages yet the NRM Government under the leadership of HIS Excellence President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has put in place programs that could minimize the poverty and hunger in our homes.
The RDC further pleaded with the Youths to stop living reckless lifestyles of loitering in the trading centers and embark on agricultural ventures.
Mr Ayikobua Festus reiterated that, as he toured across three Sub-counties in Maracha District this morning, women were the majority of people he got digging in the Gardens and he wondered where and why would the men leave their wives to dig alone.
He also spoke about rampant strikes in Schools in Maracha District, with the recent one being Maracha Secondary School students who attacked the students of Otravu Secondary School that resulted into the injury of two Maracha SSS students and two police officers who got fractures in the process of subduing the bloody strike.
Mr Festus stressed that, many parents these days complain about the unruly character of their children, a narrative the RDC said is not true and has lashed out at such parents to stop giving excuses.
"If parenting has defeated you with two children only, why would you go ahead to produce the third child", he said.
The RDC closed his statement about increasing  cases of Animal thefts in Maracha District.
He tasked residents to be on the watch out for unknown faces or private cars that move deep in the villages at night that seem to steal cows and transport them to be sold in DRC Congo.
