‘Kyeyo’ means going for work aboard and usually refer to when someone goes to do non-professional work to earn some money in the US, Canada and other countries. Usually, this happens when the person looks for a job, or someone helps them get the job and they are paid.
This is different from human trafficking which happens when a person is forced, tricked or threatened into working for someone else or doing things they would not have otherwise done.
Simply put, going for kyeyo is not the same as being trafficked. However, if the person tricked you into thinking you were going for kyeyo in that country and either took you somewhere else or forced you to work without pay, in that case, it is possible that you were trafficked using the excuse of 'kyeyo'.
