Minister Kania, MP Afidra Launch Multibillion USMID-AF Project in Madi Okollo District.

The State Minister for Lands Hon. Obiga Mario Kania and the Minister for Northern Uganda Grace Freedom Kwiocwinyi have officially handed over 8 USMID-AF sites in Madi Okollo to the contractors.  The 8 USMID-AF projects are construction of Matangacia market,  Ayavu market,  District Resource centre,  Community Centre at Inde town council,  Resource Centres in Rigbo, Rhinocamp and Ogoko sub counties and play ground at the district headquarters.

During the ground breaking ceremony,  the State Minister for Lands Hon. Obiga Mario Kania cautioned the contractors against poor quality works and late delivery.  He urged the district officials to  frequently supervise the works to ensure quality.

"As government we are only after two things and these are quality of works and timely delivery.  If you fail to adhere to these,  we will terminate your contract and award it to someone else. " said Hon. Kania.

Meanwhile the State Minister for Northern Uganda Hon. Grace Freedom Kwiocwinyi said that she expects the projects to be completed well. Hon. Kwiocwinyi said that as a region,  we are striving for development and it should be a collective responsibility. Hon. Kwiocwinyi further urged the people to embrace Parish Development Model which is for poverty eradication.  Hon. Kwiocwinyi said that if the monies in PDM are not used meaningful,  poverty will continue to persist in the households.

The MP for Lower Madi Hon Afidra Ronald complained of delays in work schedule for these USMID-AFprojects.  Hon. Afidra said that with the rate of works, the district might be among the last to complete their projects. Hon. Afidra also said that he will ensure the contractors employ local people because it is one of the ways for the communities to benefit from the projects. Hon. Afidra requested for prioritisation of a master plan for the district and roads under USMID-AF.

Madi Okollo District LCV Chairperson Drabe Ismael appreciated government of Uganda for these projects.  Drabe also reminded the government under the leadership of HE President Museveni of his pledge of constructing the security road from Panyimur to Madi Okollo to Obongi to Moyo and South Sudan. He requested for fulfilment of this plegde since it will improve connectivity and development.

The CAO Madi Okollo Ezaruku Kazimiro commended the leaders of West Nile for their developmental spirit. Ezaruku said that he is happy that the leaders of West Nile have gathered to talk about nothing but development.

USMID-AF project manager for the district Engineer Aluonzi Godfrey said that most of the projects which were handed over in May are still at foundation level. Meanwhile he commended the contractors whose projects were signed this month and have started site clearance. Eng. Aluonzi said that with the speed of works, if they don't relax on the way, they are bound to complete on schedule. We Bring You Brief Series of Sanctions Against Uganda Government Officials.

📸: Gen Abel Kandiho. On 9-December-2021, USA slapped sanctions against the then CMI Commander Gen Abel Kandiho. 📸: Gen Kale Kayihura. On 9-December-2022, UK slapped sanctions against former Police Boss Gen Kale Kayihura. 📸: Commissioner General of Prisons, Johnson Byabashaija. Again on this 4-December-2023, the same USA has slapped sanctions against Uganda Prisons Commander Johnson Byabashaija over alleged torture and human rights abuses in Prisons across Uganda. We ask, has USA and UK made December as an LCM to slap sanctions against high ranking government officials in Uganda even when the sanctions just remain on paper without deeper investigations to ascertain logical conclusions or remedy to that effect ?. #iip_updates  #Information_is_Power  #we_inform_the_uninformed

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu. Except the ones attacking him and mocking him forget that in Uganda, now, no National ID (Ndagamuntu), no service.  If you have not been denied registering your child i...
