Mrs Milika, the Chairperson of Headteachers association in her welcome remarks [ https://lnkd.in/erjM5M3F ] said, it's not a surprise ever since she became Chairperson of the Association, Hon Jennifer Driwaru is the first MP in the District to summon a meeting with DEO, All the Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers and other teachers.
Comparing Hon Jennifer to a Hen that values and loves taking care of its chicks, Mrs Milika thanked the Woman MP for being a lovely Mother of that caliber for Maracha District.
I am very happy, you are doing your best to satisfy the people of Maracha District, and what people are more interested in is not your talking in Parliament but your nearness to them, the Chairperson Headteachers Association added.
The District Education Officer, Mrs Flavia Osoa who was the second person to speak [ https://lnkd.in/eupbCRsZ ] after the welcome remarks by Chairperson Headteachers association said [ https://lnkd.in/eupbCRsZ ], in 2010 when the District started, we have ever being grappling with a lot of challenges in education, one of which has being the poor performance as a result of irregular assessment of our Pupils and Students through examinations.
Mrs Flavia said, ever since 2011, they have been presenting the issue of printing machine in their budget but unfunded!
Every year they present it as unfunded, unfunded and unfunded.
She thanked the Woman MP Hon Jennifer for identifying that gap.
Hon Jennifer be strong and do your work!
Coming to us like this is much better, continue coming to us and your work will be seen.
"What is talking there in Parliament?
When somebody is sick, you expect someone to talk in Parliament and then they put it as an agenda on Social Media", the furious DEO lamented.
Now see, bringing for us Printers and Computers, is it not a better thing?
Haven't we all appreciated it and benefited ?, Mrs Flavia asked as the quorum bursted into applauses.
So please, let's all appreciate what someone has done for us, she advised.
The DEO, Mrs Flavia tasked the Headteachers to take good care of the printing machines and computers the Woman MP has bought for the District.
She also urged the parents to take responsibility of taking care of the Printers by making some small contributions of money that will cater for the servicing of the machines instead of leaving the burden to Hon Jennifer Driwaru who has sacrificed her own money to buy them.
Mr Robinson Anguyo, a Headteacher who also doubles as the Chairman Examination Board [ https://lnkd.in/eFP4KMfS ], thanked Hon Jennifer Driwaru for the initiative to help our Schools in Maracha District and asked people not to politicize the initiative like how some people politicized UPE, that, because it's an initiative by a politician, they are gonna be totally free, which is very wrong mentality because the maintaince of these machines also need some money.
