Applauses as MPs; Lillian Paparu, Feta Geofrey, Driwaru Jennifer, Aate Taban and Few Other MPs from Westnile Region Contributed Money to Transport Westnile Students Stranded in Kampala.
By Hon Feta Geofrey MP Ayivu East.
This is the bus of the last group of the students 4 whom we mobilized transport for after recieving several calls of no proper cordination amongst many students from different institutions of learning.
We had students whose moneycouldn't find buses to West Nile. We had group of students who couldn't afford transport and even money to eat any thing.
As Hon. George Boka Didi was cordinating for Madi sub region, I asked members to send contributions to Hon. Lillian Paparu woman MP Vurra because we were to fuel parliament buses to take these stranded students home, so when we failed to secure a second bus from parliament we now resorted to police.
I wish to thank all MPs of Madi sub region for the support extended.
I wish to thank AIGP Richard Edeagu, for all the connections and advices, I wish to thank Afande Asizua for availing that hot number and also talking to Afande Nakalema who eventually made afew calls to save us from this embrassment of students been stranded, within two hours of Afande Nakalema's calls, the DPC Afande mzee of OLD KAMPALA,and Afande SIRAJI OC Old Kampala were so handy.
I wish to thank all collegues for the support, very specifically I wish thank Hon. Aate Taban Shairifa, Hon. Paparu Lillian Obiale, Hon. Driwaru Jenifer for the timely response, many collegues who were not available have promised to pass there support tommorow morning.
As I communicate to you now, we have also secured a bus for tommorow morning, this will be the last bus, any student who missed today, should be at Namayiba bus terminal by 7:30am, Afande SIRAJI OC Old Kampala Will be at their service as per our discussion now.
To those who expected better from us, we are sorry this is all we could offer outside the mandate of a member of parliament, I meal of beans and greens with love and smile is better than a fattened culf with hatred.
I wish to thank all who supported in one way or another, those who applauded the efforts and those who critised all motivated us on one way or the other.
I wish to remind us that, these are corporate social responsibilities but not roles of a member of parliament.
As these students reach home we expect them to act responsibly and self isolate before mixing with the rest of the family members because of the level of exposure in the recent past and today.
I thank you all
Feta Geofrey MP Ayivu East Constituency, ARUA city.
