Politics of Actions 🆚 Politics of Words; How Voters in Uganda are Cheated.

After every five years, Ugandans go for election of President, Members of Parliament and LC V Chairpersons, Councillors, LC3s, LC2s and LC1s.

Virtually, it’s always the election of these top most influential positions that attract the attention of the Citizens in every general election.

Recently, the Media publicized a report after obtaining information from Hansard about the names of MPs who have spoken in plenary in the past one year since they were sworn in on May-2021.

Whether the Media reports also focused on the contributions of MPs through the Parliamentary Committee sittings or not, is a subject of debate for another day.

In Uganda, just like in any other African Country, for a Member of Parliament, President or LC  to win an election, he or she has to make some pledges and promises designed as “Manifestos”.

The Media reports forgot to indicate that, all these MPs inclusive of those who spoke and those who didn’t speak in plenary in the past one year (May-2021 to May-2022) all got elected into those positions through manifestos but not their capabilities to speak or to remain silent.

In fact, each and every aspiring politician in these elective positions draft a fatty manifesto that would easily woo voters into supporting / voting for the candidate without sweet-talking them!

These remind me of former US President Abraham Lincoln’s speech who once said, “Politicians are funny people! They may promise to build a bridge where there is no River”.

Many of the deceitful political class will ride on that “manifestos” gear to gain mileage to get elected into such offices by decorating delicious manifestos.

However, the HELL breaks loose once they have won the election and are sworn into office, they begin to dodge being hold accountable to their promises (manifestos) by simply saying, their roles are stipulated in the Constitution, thus; legislation, budget, oversight blah blah.

Why did they make pledges, manifestos and promises to win the votes of people if they knew those are not their constitutional roles ?.

Greed has poisoned Human Soul!

And the souls that are poisoned by greed will stick to the Law as basis to justify their greed.

Therefore, if the New Vision , Red Pepper, Observer, Daily Monitor report on one year achievement of the MPs was for good intentions and also for the sake of relevance, they would have also publicized the achievement of the MPs in their various Constituencies and Districts in this one year (May-2021 to May-2022).

In our African culture, they say, a Cow that moos too much has no Milk.

I speak all these, For God and My Country.

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu. Except the ones attacking him and mocking him forget that in Uganda, now, no National ID (Ndagamuntu), no service.  If you have not been denied registering your child i...

Here is Why Our Utterances For Praying Jesus And God To Come Liberate Ugandans, May Be Misplaced. This Phrase is like inform of a Letter To Some Categorized Section Of Ugandans.

Last week of March, a friend told me to pray for Uganda.  I told him that he was an Idiot and we have prayed for too long and we are still hungry and sick and Jesus is not coming soon to liberate us. He then ignored the STUPID and sent me a picture we all now know.  It got me totally messed up.  This guy was telling me to pray then sends a picture of men bowing down in blood.  He might have meant guns but I blocked him because his utterances of praying for Uganda were misplaced. I unblocked him 3 weeks later and asked him about praying and assassinations.  His reply "eithrr prayers or guns or both". I hate violence with a passion.  So he is now blocked in like FOREVER. Do you feel safe?  Do not feel safe. Uganda regim...
