The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has closed all its borders with Rwanda as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate following Rwanda's claim to support the M23 rebels fighting the Congo army.
The Petit Barrier border in Goma town will be closed from 2pm to 1am to allow businesses to go on their activities.
Earlier, a DRC soldier crossed the border into Rwanda where he shot and injured two Rwandan policemen before the soldier was shot and killed.
Meanwhile, a group of M23 fighters have shot and shot down a DRC military plane near Goma town. The spokesman for the rebels Majro Willy Ngoma has told the Voice of America writer in Goma that they shot down the plane because it had entered their fortress with the aim of attacking them.
There are no reports of deaths or injuries so far.
