Three Things to Learn from Alleged Impending Impeachment of Central Division Arua City Mayor Muzaid Khemis.

Following Mayor Muzaid’s impeachment breaking news released on 15-1-2022 at 10am by Eyotaru Julliet, whom many people believe to be Osuta Yusuf or Anguzu Vincent, it has left the public debating on those pertinent issues raised in the article.

Much as there is still no official communication from the City Council over this matter concerning the Mayor, the central division Arua City councillors have put a number of valid reasons to impeach Division Mayor Muzaid Khemis, some of which are;

1. Been Anti-Development! This is witnessed in his continuous fight against Barifa forest ecotourism project he has vowed through radio to fight it till the last drop of his blood.

2. Using his office / position to sign dubious deals and taking bribes, an accusation the Councillors mentioned Lobidra market as an example in which the Mayor took a bribe of over 100 Million Shs from South Sudanese fish traders to offer for them a place for selling their fish that has since depreciated the market for Ugandan fish / fish traders.

3. Undermining the city council, thus; taking his own decisions without the concultation and approval by Councillors.

However, below here are the three major issues that shall arise from this impending impeachment of the Mayor;

1. There shall obviously be bribery to silence and persuade some of the Councillors not to support impeachment of the mayor.

2. The strong hearted councilors with no lust for money who will refuse bribery shall be intimidated with all forms of threats to scare them from supporting the removal of Mayor Muzaid.

3. With reports that, the Mayor is currently under investigations over those allegations, this whole impeachment saga will put to test, the Integrity, credibility and sovereignty of Arua City Council (2021 - 2026 regime).

It shall further more prove to the World who are the fearless Councillors in Arua City to stand with the truth amidst Bribes and Threats.

This is why Hon Mayor Muzaid needs to vacate that office in the mean time to pave way for independent investigations to avoid frustrating the process.
