SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING WEST NILE FOUNDATION.




The West Nile Foundation (WNF) was registered as a company limited by guarantee on the 8/10/2010 by ten (10) members. It’s objectives included advocacy, socio-economic transformation of the region, establishment of a scholarship fund to be administered by an independent Board of Trustees, a model private school, collective investment scheme, SACCO, an investment arm for the benefit of Members, social support and Uniting West Nilers amongst others. 


Today, the Foundation has over 400 registered members. Apart from the West Nile Educational Trust Fund, the Foundation also founded the West Nile Night, the West Nile Family Day, and West Nile Recognition of Outstanding Personalities Awards. The foundation has also supported the wider community of West Nile in cases of grief or happiness and enhanced the unity of the people of West Nile and supported causes both in West Nile and other parts of the country.

Over time the leadership of the foundation has been enhanced by co-opting outstanding personalities of imminent persons in its expanded executive including; Dr. Ayine Robert. Dan Edoma, Babu Michael, Jimmy Adiga among others.


Following yet another successful fundraising drive for the Educational Trust Fund, an expanded Executive Committee of the Foundation held a meeting on the 5/11/2022 in which the following was resolved;


1. Forming a Whatsup group exclusively for paid up Members of West Nile Foundation now that whatsApp group membership in terms of numbers has been enhanced,

2. Forming a three person committee chaired by Mr. John Toa, Dr. Robert Ayine and Wendy Angu ‘deyo as members with the President as an Ex-officio member to spear head the Review of the Constitution of the Foundation. This process will lead to a discussion on the Constitution for the input of members. 

3. Opening up further membership drive by giving an opportunity for those that did not pay subscription fee to pay,

4. Drawing the Road Map for elections of a new Executive in accordance with the new Constitution,

5. We intend that the foundation should advance a strong social agenda for it’s paid up members. 


We thank you for the unity exhibited over the last 12 years, we appreciate your unwavering support  for all our causes. 


In liaison with the leadership of the Educational Trust Fund, we intend to publish the statement of financial affairs for the funds raised during the dinner.


Take care of yourselves in the face of Ebola and avoid carelessness while driving as we go towards these festive periods.

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu.
