Following Intelligence Tipoff from Rwanda, Uganda has Deported Back to Australia a Rwandan Opposition Coordinator.
A top member of the opposition Rwanda National Congress (RNC) has been deported back to Australia.
Robert Mukombozi, the RNC coordinator of the Australia Chapter, was on Friday intercepted by Ugandan intelligence officials moments after arriving in the country.
This followed a tip-off from Rwandan intelligence services.
Officials said Mukombozi was grilled by Ugandan security services for many hours before being told to return to Australia.
The RNC is a diaspora-based political organization led by former Rwandan army chief, Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa.
Uganda’s Land Forces Commander Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba on Saturday hinted at the deportation of Kayumba’s man.
“General Kayumba, please try to respect the Republic of Uganda. We have made peace with Afande Kagame and Rwanda. Try and respect that. We sent you your man last night,” said Muhoozi on Twitter.
