Ugandan Sheikh Burns Daughter for Converting to Christianity.

The attack is the latest of many instances of persecution of Christian converts from Islam in Uganda.

A Christian convert was admitted with pain at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital this month after her father who is also a Muslim leader burnt her for leaving Islam.

Rehema Kyomuhendo says she heard the gospel of salvation in March 2020, following her trip from Mbarara to Mbale District where she had accompanied her father, Sheikh Hussein Byaruhanga Husain.

The two stayed at her aunt’s house in Nawuyo village, Mbale District.

At about 10 p.m on May 4, Rehema had a lengthy conversation about the Christian faith with a colleague introduced to her by her aunt.

“She explained to me about Christ and the way of salvation, and I got convicted and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior,” Kyomuhendo says.

“As she was sharing Christ with me, I was so overjoyed, and my father heard my joy and woke up, came from his bedroom furiously and started beating me up with blows, slaps and kicks,” she adds.

Sheikh Hussein Byaruhanga also confronted her sister, telling her that his daughter had converted to Christianity and that therefore he was going to kill her.

Morning Star News (MSN), an international nonprofit group devoted to covering global issues of Christian persecution, reveals in its report published Thursday that the Shiekh “quickly broke a jerrican, lit the pieces with its remaining fuel and began burning Rehema.”

According to MSN, Kyomuhendo screamed for help, and her aunt got out of bed and shielded her from her father.

“She carried her outside of the room together with a Christian neighbor who arrived,” MSN reports. “The neighbor arranged for a taxi-van that took her to a hospital, and she got immediate treatment.”

Kyomuhendo is expected to remain at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital more than a month with serious burns on her leg, stomach, rib area, near her neck and on part of her back.

Kyomuhendo and the neighbor have not reported the assault to police for fear that her father might try kill her, MSN reports.

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu. Except the ones attacking him and mocking him forget that in Uganda, now, no National ID (Ndagamuntu), no service.  If you have not been denied registering your child i...
