Bail is an agreement between the accused (including his/ her sureties) and the court that the accused person will be released from custody until his/her trial date and the accused will pay a certain sum of money fixed by the court if the accused fails to attend the trial on a certain date. This is only given by Court. Depending on the seriousness of the case, the bail can be for cash or no cash or the court may refuse to give it to you if it thinks you may flee or interfere with the case.
A police bond is where the police officer in charge of a police station has power to release a person taken into custody without a warrant if it is not practicable to take that person to court within 48 hours of arrest. This is given by the police officer in charge of a police station. This one is free of charge If you have someone in detention, if that person is still at the Police station, then ask for Police Bond, if the person produced before court, then apply for Bail in court.
