Breaking Technology News; Email Server of FBI has Been Hacked.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Saturday confirmed unidentified threat actors have breached one of its email servers to blast hoax messages about a fake "sophisticated chain attack." The incident, which was first publicly diaclosed by threat intelligence non-profit SpamHaus, involved sending rogue warning emails with the subject line "Urgent: Threat actor in systems" originating from a legitimate FBI email address "eims@ic.fbi[.]gov" that framed the attack on Vinny Troia, a security researcher and founder of dark web intelligence firms Night Lion Security and Shadowbyte, while also claiming him to be affiliated with a hacking outfit named TheDarkOverlord. SpamHaus cited its own telemetry data to point out that the email blasts happened over two "spam" waves, one shortly before 5:00 a.m. UTC and another one shortly after 7:00 a.m. UTC.  However, according to Kryptos Logic researcher Marcus Hutchins, the goal appears to be to disc...

WHAT DOES BEING AN ACCUSED PERSON MEAN ❓.

Magumba got into some legal troubles last year, but luckily the \"real\" thief was caught and police set Magumba free. Early last week, Magumba was moving through the market trying to decide what to buy for his supper when a certain vendor pointed at him and told the police officer that Magumba was an accused person and he must have escaped from the police custody. He was immediately arrested and the vendor kept raising an alarm while Magumba was being carried out of the market. She kept saying that once a thief meant always a thief. Does this mean that Magumba is still an accused person? NO! This is because when a case against a person is closed, then that person cannot be under any suspicion any longer. What is an Accusation? This means an allegation that a person is guilty of some fault, offence, or crime; For example if it is claimed that you stole something, and subsequently brought before a court of law, you will be accused of the crime of theft. However, if you are fou...

BREAKING NEWS. Technology Experts Have Discovered PhoneSpy Malware Spying on South Korean Citizens.

An ongoing mobile spyware campaign has been uncovered snooping on South Korean residents using a family of 23 malicious Android apps to siphon sensitive information and gain remote control of the devices. "With more than a thousand South Korean victims, the malicious group behind this invasive campaign has had access to all the data, communications, and services on their devices," Zimperium researcher Aazim Yaswant said. "The victims were broadcasting their private information to the malicious actors with zero indication that something was amiss." The Dallas-based mobile security company dubbed the campaign "PhoneSpy." Zimperium did not attribute the spyware to a known threat actor. "The evidence surrounding PhoneSpy shows a familiar framework that has been passed around for years, updated by individuals and shared within private communities and back channels until assembled into what we see in this variation today," Richard Melick, the company...

IF MY CHILD GETS INJURED OR KNOCKED BECAUSE THEY PLAYED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, SHOULD MY CHILD BE BLAMED FOR PLAYING IN THE ROAD?.

Nakimuli’s 5-year-old niece came to visit last week her favourite aunt. While Nakimuli was cooking lunch, she heard people screaming and ran out of the house to find her niece lying on the ground after being knocked by her neighbour Baji. Baji has refused to pay hospital bills or take care of any bills because the child was carelessly playing in the road. Nakimuli disagrees and wants to go as far as court to fight Baji. Does she have a case?   Yes, she does. By law, if you put yourself in a position that you know is unsafe, without taking any precautions, then you and the person who created that situation are both to blame for what happened. You will be to blame for failing to protect yourself and the other person will be to blame for creating unsafe circumstances.  For instance, if you decide to pose for a photo while holding your neighbour’s violent and dangerous dog and it bites you, then your neighbour is being reckless or negligent in allowing that dog out in the public, ...

Is Our Existence in Westnile Region by Mistake or for a Reason ❓.

We have had from the past up to date, a number of senseless wars and fights regarding Political, Social and Cultural governance in our region, with the recent been; 1. a cartel of some people questioning legal process of how MP Denis Lee Oguzu won a bid to develop Barifa forest, 2. MP Songa Lawrence phoning Government agencies not to work with MP Atima Jackson, and the latest is 3. Minsiter Obiga Mario Kania petitioning Minsitry of Public Service over the appointment of retired Ambassador Harold Acema and Rev Cosmas Alule to the District Service Commission of Terego. Such fights are most times ignited by self-centered individuals on baseless allegations. What is our generation doing about such brawls ?. Is it right if we continue keeping silent and abetting these kinds of wars that hamper unity, development and service delivery in our region and Country ?. It is not better we protest through form of writings and publications to airout our discomfort with such greed infested clicks in o...

WITCHRAFT AND DIVORCE – CAN YOU PROVE IT?

Kitambo was introduced by Kirabo to her family in a customary marriage ceremony and everything went well. When they had their first child, Kirabo started noticing that Kitambo was a bit ‘weird’. He would go out naked at night and sometimes neighbours would tell her that they saw her husband dancing in the middle of the road while reciting some strange words. When Kirabo confronted him, Kitambo informed her that he had decided to ‘go back to his roots’ and her son would soon join him. Kirabo decided at that moment that enough is enough and fled. She wants to divorce Kitambo now.  WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?  Since marriage in Uganda can be religious, civil or customary, the law allows for different reasons for a couple to get divorced. If the couple want to divorce in a customary marriage, they can follow their traditional norms during the divorce or go to a court of law. If it is through their customary practices, Witchcraft can be used as a basis for divorce. A husband or wife can...

Unless You Update Your Softwares, WhatsApp Will Stop Working on Older Phones Running Android 4.0 and iOS 9.0.

A new update to WhatsApp will see the app pull support for thousands of different handsets, meaning many people could be about to lose access to their messages, photos, and contacts on the encrypted messaging app. If you've responsibly cared for the same handset for years, it might be time to upgrade or update as tech companies seem keen to move people onto the latest kit. 43 popular smartphones, including Android and iPhone, will be unable to send messages and pictures or make videocalls on WhatsApp starting today. Any phone with Android 4.0.4 or earlier, or any iPhone with iOS 9, will lose out on WhatsApp access. Some of these phones are over ten years old, with Android 4 first released in 2011. In this photo illustration, the social media application logo, WhatsApp is displayed on the screen of a computer on March 15, 2019 in Paris, France. Social media Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp have been affected by a global outage for nearly 24 hours on March 14, 2019 cutting...

WHAT IS MOTOR VEHICLE 3RD PARTY INSURANCE ?.

Third Party insurance covers the damage that may be caused by one car to another person's property, not being the owner or driver or of that insured car. Basically, if a taxi has that party insurance (as the law demands all cars must) and that taxi knocks you or destroys your property then you can recover money to compensate you for the damage. After the accident, you need to d the following so that you can recover from the incident;  1. Take pictures and gather as much information as you can at the scene of the accident. 2. Find out whether the person who caused the accident is insured and get his or her contacts. 3. Get the contact details of any witnesses  4. If there are police officers present give them your statement and make sure you get the Crime Reference Number if a file is opened up.  5. Make a note of any other relevant information. If you want to make a recovery you have got to be proactive and keep in touch with the person who caused the accident, also make ...

Why do our Leaders from Westnile region love fighting each other.

In the Tenth Parliament (2016 - 2021), we had a one Hon Minister, a purpoted Engineer who was fighting and advising President Museveni not to connect Westnile region to the National Grid. Further Intel revealed that, the Minister was actually pocketing cash bribes from some Petrol station owners and Generator dealers in Westnile region. They believed if Westnile region is connected to the National Grid, it would affect their petrol station and Generator Business! So, the money hungry Minsiter was bribed to misinform the president and subdue the developmental efforts of Westnile MPs in the Tenth Parliament. Again this time 4-Nov-2021 , is another scheme of fighting plotted by Ora County MP Lawrence Songa, as reported by Hon Atima Jackson of Central Division Arua City. It is believed that, Hon Songa informed UNRA not to work with Hon Atima in regards to roads in the region, may it be because Hon Songa Lawrence is now the elected Chairperson for Westnile Parliamentary Caucus. Let's fi...

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BAIL AND POLICE BOND?

Bail is an agreement between the accused (including his/ her sureties) and the court that the accused person will be released from custody until his/her trial date and the accused will pay a certain sum of money fixed by the court if the accused fails to attend the trial on a certain date. This is only given by Court. Depending on the seriousness of the case, the bail can be for cash or no cash or the court may refuse to give it to you if it thinks you may flee or interfere with the case.  A police bond is where the police officer in charge of a police station has power to release a person taken into custody without a warrant if it is not practicable to take that person to court within 48 hours of arrest. This is given by the police officer in charge of a police station. This one is free of charge If you have someone in detention, if that person is still at the Police station, then ask for Police Bond, if the person produced before court, then apply for Bail in court. 📷: Unsplash ...

"Am now a Born Again", Arrogant Gen Elly Tumwine Repents.

Gen Elly Tumwiine on Monday commemorated 40 years since he came face to face with death in the early days of the National Resistance Army war which propelled the current NRM government to power. On November 1st 1981, shortly after the successful raid on Kabamba Military Barracks, Tumwiine was shot in the face during a battle with government forces at Bukomero. He lost his right eye and had to be hospitalized secretly at Mengo and Mulago Hospitals in Kampala. Speaking on Monday 1-Nov-2021 to commemorate 40 years after the incident, Gen Tumwiine said he was grateful to God not just for saving his life but his sight. “When I emerged from surgery the doctors told me I was very lucky because eyes are usually sympathetic to each other in that such an injury to one eye could have left the other blinded as well,” he said.   “I call this (November 1st) my day, because it’s a day I recognize God’s hand and his mighty providence to say that ‘I still want you here.’ My survival was proof...
