The AIGP Mugisha Joseph, the Director Fire and Rescue services who represented the IGP as the Chief Guest in a ceremony, Commissioned the newly constructed Administrative block at Paidha Police Station.
He was accompanied by AG. D/Director construction, estate and land management as well as Commandant Police Review and other senior officers from Police Headquarters. A number of Leaders from Zombo District attended the ceremony and amongst others included the Mayor Paidha Town Council, the LC5 Chairman, Area MP who also echoed the voice of RDC who was not present and representatives from sister forces.
The UPDF was represented by Lt. Col. Natukunda, the head of Intelligence in the border area and his Counter part heading intelligence on the side of DRC Congo was invited to represent the Congolese Authority. Both of them urged the Police and UPDF officers to maintain cordial working relationship with each other so as to effectively manage cross border crimes and challenges.
The Local Leadership of Zombo district appreciated the Newly constructed Administrative Block, and applouded the cordial working relationship with the territorial police leadership, requested for filling of manpower gap, establishment of CCTV Cameras as well as being able to understand and effectively manage cross border issues since their communities extend across the border to DRC Congo.
RPC West Nile ACP Enock Abaine thanked the Police Management for a modern Police station and requested issues of manpower gap, accommodation for officers, Power and water be taken into consideration. He urged the community to embrace the state of the art fire fighting equipments recently given to serve West Nile Region by Police Management.
However, the chief Guest thanked the territorial police leadership for supporting the construction, thanked the civilian population for giving land for the construction, he urged the officers to make use of the new building to effectively serve the local population as well as ensuring peace and security in the area, protect and uphold rights of the civilians, maintain law and order 24 hours and 7days a week, cooperate with the local leadership and sister forces, practice community policing, customer care, discipline and quick response to emergency calls and timely attend to counter phones.
He further urged the civilian population to call police when their lives are in danger and share with them timely information on crimes so as to secure them.
