As if She Was Abroad and Not an MP In Uganda For More Than 30 Years But Still Counting, The Speaker Of Uganda Parliament, Hon Kadaga has Today 25-10-2019 Promised To Start Lobbying Money For Vocational Institutes In Her Busoga Sub-Region.

Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, has pledged to mobilise funding and support for vocational institutes in Busoga sub-region.

Kadaga said she will involve industries and factories and keep urging the government, since they are the major beneficiaries of graduates from the vocational institutes.

“I promise to work with the MPs and government to solicit funding and support internationally and locally from the government and other stakeholders to improve the quality of our schools so that they are well equipped,” she said.

Kadaga was officiating at the first graduation ceremony of Basoga Nsadhu Vocational Institute in Busiki, Namutumba District on Thursday, 24 October, 2019.

Kadaga was impressed that some of the graduands had already got jobs or were already productive even before graduation.

“While attending a graduation of Nawanyago Technical Institute recently, I was delighted to learn that one of the graduates was already working as a chef at State House even before graduation,” she said.

She further advocated for more girls and boys to cross cuttingly take part in the various skills without leaving them to any particular gender.

“Mechanical training is not restricted to boys and neither is hairdressing [to girls only],” Kadaga said.

The area MP, Hon. Paul Akamba (Ind., Busiku County) thanked the Speaker for supporting the establishment of the Institute and asked parents, leaders and the youth to support and embrace vocational education because the skills acquired during vocational training propel industry and development.

“White collar professionals like Lawyers or Economists are not the backbone of development but rather the skills-based professions which support industrial development,” he said.

Akamba told parents to encourage their children to take on the path of acquiring technical skills and crafts as they are equally well paying especially when mastered and support self-employment.

Akamba advocated for the inclusion of the Basoga Nsadhu Vocational Institute in the Busoga Education Initiative and the Busoga Consortium to benefit from funding.

On 9-December-2022, UK slapped sanctions against former Police Boss Gen Kale Kayihura. 📸: Commissioner General of Prisons, Johnson Byabashaija. Again on this 4-December-2023, the same USA has slapped sanctions against Uganda Prisons Commander Johnson Byabashaija over alleged torture and human rights abuses in Prisons across Uganda. We ask, has USA and UK made December as an LCM to slap sanctions against high ranking government officials in Uganda even when the sanctions just remain on paper without deeper investigations to ascertain logical conclusions or remedy to that effect ?. #iip_updates  #Information_is_Power  #we_inform_the_uninformed

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu. Except the ones attacking him and mocking him forget that in Uganda, now, no National ID (Ndagamuntu), no service.  If you have not been denied registering your child i...
