These 16 Clicker Malware Infected Android Apps Were Downloaded Over 20 Million Times . As many as 16 malicious apps with over 20 million cumulative downloads have been taken down from the Google Play Store after they were caught committing mobile ad fraud. The  Clicker  malware masqueraded as seemingly harmless utilities like cameras, currency/unit converters, QR code readers, note-taking apps, and dictionaries, among others, in a bid to trick users into downloading them, cybersecurity firm McAfee  said . A classic case of concealment foiled.  A trader's consignment entered Uganda aboard a truck declared as 785 cartons of small torches weighing 16,384kgs. The scanner said otherwise. Image analysis was done and while it confirmed the existence of cartons of torches, there was also something conspicuous tucked away in the middle.  The consignment was flagged immediately and thorough verification revealed the truth.   That conspicuous element turned out to be 400 cartons of shoes (19,200) pairs of shoes undeclared for tax with a CIF value of ($23,040) attracting taxes of up to Ugx 100M. Google  searches for the phrase "delete  PayPal  " have skyrocketed by 1,392% after the payment giant said it would fine users $2,500 (roughly £2,261.24) for spreading misinformation. The announcement came as part of a new policy set to come into force next month, but PayPal has since done a U-turn following the backlash. A spokesperson for the company stated: “PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy.” PayPal had planned to introduce the new policy on November 3, according to several reports.
