The government with concerned stakeholders are paying off land owners along Terego-Yumbe Road to kick start the tarmacking of the highway.
Meanwhile I have been invited by the University of Sabanci in Turkey who have promised to provide 10 scholarships strictly for girl child education for Yumbe District. We hope to empower our girls for better "HOPE".
This is good news if the internal rate of return on this road has become positive. It would be interesting to know the financiers as no loan has so far been secured for this road. How many people have had their land and properties along this road have had their properties assessed ready for compensation as my ancestral land and properties lie along the same road. I wish to congratulate my colleague for successfully lobbying for this enormous project from which ever institution not certainly the Parliament of Uganda where appropriation and securing loans is done. I wish it could kickoff so that I can also benefit from tarmac road from Arua to Mayo passing through Ayivu, Terego and West Mayo counties for which Wadri failed to lobby.
