How Sex Scandal is Rocking and Destroying Service Delivery and Development in Maracha.

Gossip rocked a section of youthful councillors across the District after it emerged that, one of them traded sex with another youth leader (name withheld for security reasons) to be able to win a position in the youth council. Speaking on anonymity, one of the youth leaders told this online publication blog, that, one of them (a lady) who was in love relationship with another powerful youth councillor, used that advantage to manipulate ways to impose the young lady onto that seat which she is not supposed to hold. Another youth councillor (a guy) said, in 2020 when they traveled to Gulu for election of female youth MPs, Electoral Commission officials denied this young lady to sign transport allowance of 350,000 Shs on grounds that, her name was not showing anywhere in the EC system as a Youth councillor holding any position from any Sub-county or any Parish in Maracha District. This embarrassing moment took the intervention of her bonk mate (lover) who used his position to...

WhatsApp Hit with €5.5 Million Fine for Violating Data Protection Laws.

The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) on Thursday imposed fresh fines of €5.5 million against Meta's WhatsApp for violating data protection laws when processing users' personal information. At the heart of the ruling is an update to the messaging platform's Terms of Service that was imposed in the days leading to the enforcement of the General Data Protection Regulation ( GDPR ) in May 2018, requiring that users agree to the revised terms in order to continue using the service or risk losing access. The complaint, filed by privacy non-profit NOYB, alleged that WhatsApp breached the regulation by compelling its users to "consent to the processing of their personal data for service improvement and security" by "making the accessibility of its services conditional on users accepting the updated Terms of Service." "WhatsApp Ireland is not entitled to rely on the contract legal basis for the delivery of service improvement and security," the DP...

When we spoke with some of the students over their experience during the 6 months training at the institute, many appreciated President Museveni for thinking about skilling the Youths and some of them mentioned the issue of deducted transport refund money as one of the challenges they faced towards closure of the training which they said resulted from misbehavior of some students who had stolen some of the training materials in the school. In the early ’70s, Bruce Campbell paid $25,800 for 10 acres of land in Hillsboro, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. The electrical engineer, who’s now   73 and resides in a parked plane on his property, tells  CNBC Make It  the dream began when he saw   an airplane boneyard on TV when he was 15 years old. He decided he   wanted to live in one. In 1999, Campbell resolved to follow through but had no idea how to go about it, so he hired a salvage company to find him a plane. “That was a Whopper class mistake. I’ll never do that again. Salvage companies are wreckers,” Campbell says. “I highly recommend just buying a jetliner completely intact and completely functional, except maybe the removal of the engines.” Campbell’s jetliner is parked on a 10-acre property he bought in the early ’70s. CNBC Make It After months of searching, the company found ...

 Jan 19, 2023  Ravie Lakshmanan The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) on Wednesday announced the arrest of  Anatoly Legkodymov  (aka Gandalf and Tolik), the cofounder of Hong Kong-registered cryptocurrency exchange Bitzlato, for allegedly processing $700 million in illicit funds. The 40-year-old Russian national, who was arrested in Miami, was charged in a U.S. federal court with "conducting a money transmitting business that transported and transmitted illicit funds and that failed to meet U.S. regulatory safeguards, including anti-money laundering requirements," the DoJ  said . According to court documents, Bitzlato is said to have advertised itself as a virtual currency exchange with minimal identification requirements for its users, breaking the rules requiring the vetting of customers. This lack of know your customer (KYC) enforcement led to the service becoming a "haven for criminal proceeds" and facilitating transactions worth more than $700 million on the...

Siri on Apple Watch accidentally called 15 police officers to a gym.

On a very routine training day, Australian sports coach Jamie Alleyne was surprised to see roughly fifteen police officers enter his gym. Later, they informed him that they had received a call from him about a gunshot that was taking place. It is highly unlikely that these events could have resulted in this misconception. Undoubtedly,  Apple  devices may sometimes have bugs and issues. The Apple Watch Series 7 has now taken the place of the iPhone 14 this time. The Australian sports coach Jamie Alleyne, 34, struggled to comprehend why fifteen police officers had appeared out of nowhere in his gym. Jamie Alleyne  finds that a police officer has just barged in while he is training one of his clients. Then, he tells him that he got a call reporting a gunshot. The coach explains to him that he did not hear anything since he does not understand. He is informed by the policeman that the call originated from his number. Other officials are inspecting the owner in the mean...

WHEN CAN YOU LEGALLY BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR CHOICES ?.

Mabirizi gave away two goats and a sack of millet to the barmaid, who served him delicious beef and malwa (local brew). Her family just came this morning and picked up the gifts from his home. Mabirizi has denied ever giving those things away 'mbu' he was not in his right mind. However everyone (including mabirizi) knows he can drink two full crates of beer before getting drunk. Can he legally deny giving away the goats and millet to the barmaid? You can't always blame it on the alcohol!! Just because you have taken a few beers does not mean you can blame all your bad decisions on this. Today we want to talk about something called Capacity. Capacity means your ability to understand the nature and consequences of your actions and to make decisions (based on this understanding). It is whether or not a person is legally able to do or not something. For example, to enter a contract or agreement or give away something. Drinking a few beers does not necessarily take a...

Critical Security Vulnerabilities Discovered in Netcomm and TP-Link Routers.

Security vulnerabilities have been disclosed in Netcomm and TP-Link routers, some of which could be weaponized to achieve remote code execution. The flaws, tracked as CVE-2022-4873 and CVE-2022-4874, concern a case of stack-based buffer overflow and authentication bypass and impact Netcomm router models NF20MESH, NF20, and NL1902 running software versions earlier than R6B035. "The two vulnerabilities, when chained together, permit a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code," the CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) said in an advisory published Tuesday. "The attacker can first gain unauthorized access to affected devices, and then use those entry points to gain access to other networks or compromise the availability, integrity, or confidentiality of data being transmitted from the internal network." Security researcher Brendan Scarvell has been credited with discovering and reporting the issues in October 2022. Vulnerabilities in Netcomm and TP-Link ...

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE ?.

Have you ever heard the term "circumstantial evidence" and not quite sure what it means? Let us explain! One time, Zilaba brought his pig for sale, but Saka said bad words about it to the butcher  and instead sold his pig to the pork joint. Zilaba became angry and shouted out that he would make Saka pay. That night, someone saw Zilaba walking away from the direction of Saka's house. In the morning, the LC1 announced that Saka was found strangled to death in his house, and all the money from the pig sale was missing. Who do you think everyone will think killed Saka? Simply put, circumstantial evidence is evidence that indirectly proves a fact. For example, let's say you're on trial for murder and the prosecution presents evidence that you had a motive to kill the victim, that you were at the scene of the crime at the time it was committed, and that you had a history of violence. While none of these things directly prove that you committed the murder, th...

The Uganda Parliamentary Budget Committee has rejected a request of Shs1.4 billion from the East African Community Affairs (EAC) Parliamentary Committee meant for sensitisation and public awareness by the Ministry of East African Community Affairs in the 2023 / 2024 financial year. This was during a meeting in which the EAC Committee Chairperson, Noeline Kisembo presented the Budget Framework Paper for the Ministry of East African Community Affairs on 17 January 2023. She pointed out that the approved funds of Shs720 million are not sufficient enough, saying that one of the main problems facing the Ministry of East African Affairs is visibility. “Many Ugandans hardly know the importance of the EAC integration and how to benefit from it,” she said. Kisembo said that with massive public awareness, it is hoped that participation in the EAC trade will improve, leading to benefits from the integration. Her Deputy, Hon. Abdi Fadhir Chemaswet said that the use of billboards is int...
