Ghanaian blackboard computer teacher gets Microsoft and local support 17 March 2018. Owura Kwadwo Hottish, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teacher in Ghana who became a twitter sensation in February after drawing Microsoft Word interface on a blackboard continues to get support. Hottish’s innovative teaching method in the face of lacking teaching and learning materials earned him lots of commendation on social media. Microsoft’s Africa office also promised to equip him with a device to help teach his children. This was after a tech entrepreneur Rebecca Enonchong tweeted at the company seeking support for him. Hottish shared a photo of his arrival in Singapore for a computer program. “Just arrived in Singapore for the Microsoft Global Education Exchange Summit. Looking forward to learn something new,” he captioned a picture with a Kenyan colleague. Ahead of the Microsoft-sponsored Singapore trip, he had received material support of a laptop and desktop computer to support his efforts. The laptop he said was from a benefactor at University of Leeds, one Amiraj Alharthi. The desktop computer on the other hand was donated through the efforts of a local journalist with support from a local computing firm, NIIT. In both cases, the donations were made at the premises of the school located in Ghana’s Ashanti region.

Ghanaian blackboard computer teacher gets Microsoft and local support

Owura Kwadwo Hottish, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teacher in Ghana who became a twitter sensation in February after drawing Microsoft Word interface on a blackboard continues to get support.

Hottish’s innovative teaching method in the face of lacking teaching and learning materials earned him lots of commendation on social media.

Microsoft’s Africa office also promised to equip him with a device to help teach his children. This was after a tech entrepreneur Rebecca Enonchong tweeted at the company seeking support for him.

UGANDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO ELIMINATE NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS (IDs) FOR 2021 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

The elimination of using National IDs (Ndagamuntu) for the 2021 elections should not have come as a surprise. One would be very NAIVE to think that Bobi Wine has not prepared for this in his Business Plan under the RISK section. It is public knowledge that our EC is not independent.  It is also public knowledge that Military Dictator Yoweri Museveni will never lose an election. What stunned us this morning is when we noticed that on social media, people were mocking Bobi with his "get your Ndagamuntu".  We are on record for saying to all Our readers that the National ID is like Apartheid in South Africa. Students of History would know how those IDs were being used to arrest people, deny them jobs, deny them basic services. Consequently, Bobi was not wrong and will never be wrong on the Ndagamuntu.
