“I Have Infected Many Men with HIV Because They Don’t Want to Wear Condom” - Sexual Worker Jackie Njoki Confesses.

Jackie Njoki (photo from tuko.co.ke). Kenya-Jackline Njoki Mwangi was diagnosed with HIV at a tender age after sleeping with men for upkeep money. She then started infecting other people intentionally saying she too was not warned by the person who infected her. In a revealing interview with Kenya’s online news portal, tuko.co.ke, Njoki said it was her sexual partners’ responsibilities to protect themselves and not hers. The 36-year-old blamed her woes on her mother who she claimed despised and mistreated her after she left the country to work in the US. Many people usually find it hard to disclose their HIV/AIDS status to anyone as it is a subject of confidentiality and no one is allowed to reveal the other person’s status. Njoki, also known as Kiki wa Ng’endo, further revealed she intentionally infected her sex partners to punish them for not using protection while sleeping with her. “At the end of the day, I can not be your keeper. You know you do not know me, I am not r

New Malware Steals Call Details from VoIP Softswitch Systems.

voip-malwareity. Researchers have discovered an entirely new kind of Linux malware dubbed "CDRThief" that targets voice over IP (VoIP) softswitches in an attempt to steal phone call metadata. "The primary goal of the malware is to exfiltrate various private data from a compromised softswitch, including call detail records (CDR)," ESET researchers said in a Thursday analysis. "To steal this metadata, the malware queries internal MySQL databases used by the softswitch. Thus, attackers demonstrate a good understanding of the internal architecture of the targeted platform." cybersecurity Softswitches (short for software switches) are generally VoIP servers that allow for telecommunication networks to provide management of voice, fax, data and video traffic, and call routing. ESET's research uncovered that CDRThief targeted a specific Linux VoIP platform, namely the VOS2009 and 3000 softswitches from Chinese company Linknat, and had

New Unpatched Bluetooth Flaw Lets Hackers Easily Target Nearby Devices.

Blutooth-attack Bluetooth SIG—an organization that oversees the development of Bluetooth standards—has issued a statement informing users and vendors of a newly reported unpatched vulnerability that potentially affects hundreds of millions of devices worldwide. Discovered independently by two separate teams of academic researchers, the flaw resides in the Cross-Transport Key Derivation (CTKD) of devices supporting both — Basic Rate/Enhanced Data Rate (BR/EDR) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard. Cross-Transport Key Derivation (CTKD) is a Bluetooth component responsible for negotiating the authenticate keys when pairing two Bluetooth devices together, also known as "dual-mode" devices. cybersecurity Dubbed 'BLURtooth' and tracked as CVE-2020-15802, the flaw exposes devices powered with Bluetooth 4.0 or 5.0 technology, allowing attackers to unauthorizedly connect to a targeted nearby device by overwriting the authenticated key or reducing the

ANCESTRAL JUSTICE. Spirit of Slain Kenneth Akena Haunting Mathew Kanyamunyu, Rushes to Confess Before Acholic Cultural Leaders for Apology.

Mathew Kanyamunyu kneeling before the Acholi elders Kampala businessman Mathew Kanyamunyu, a prime suspect in the shooting of child rights activist Kenneth Akena Watmon, has this afternoon confessed to the crime and agreed to pay reparation for the offence. Kanyamunyu was arrested in 2016 on suspicion that he drew a gun at Akena after he reportedly accidentally knocked his car in a parking lot in Lugogo, Kampala. Akena had reportedly gone to apologise to Kanyamunyu after the accident, but Kanyamunyu instead lowered the window of his car and shot him with a pistol at close range. Akena died a few hours later at Norvic hospital along Bombo Road where he had been taken by the accused. Kanyamunyu has since then been on trial together with his Burundian girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and sibling Joseph Kanyamunyu who allegedly hid the killer gun. But throughout the trial, Kanyamunyu and his girlfriend insisted that they only took Akena to hospital as good Samaritans.   But in an

Some List of MPs Who “Unfairly” or “Fairly” Lost in the NRM Party Primary Elections on 4-Sep-2020.

On September 4, the ruling party held primaries to choose flagbearers for Members of Parliament for 2021 general elections. The election was characterized by violence, rigging, bribery and multiple petitions while other contestants chose to declare themselves as winners and in some constituencies elections were suspended by the NRM electoral commission to thwart possible chaos and bloodshed. UPDF Soldier at the Rank of Lance Corporal, Bigombe Collins Tuhame Has Been Arrested and Detained at Muhoti Barracks, for Joining National Unity Platform (NUP) Party as its Coordinator for Fort Portal.

Our coordinators in Fort Portal have informed me of the arrest and detention of Lance Corporal Collins Tuhame Bigombe at Muhoti Barracks in Fort Portal. Apparently, his crime is identifying with the National Unity Platform and #PeoplePower.  We know that the vast majority of UPDF and Police Officers support our struggle to liberate our country. As I said in my previous message, these brothers and sisters have borne the brunt of bad governance. We therefore always encourage the soldiers and police officers who support us that they don't need to come out now.  Therefore, it might have been a wrong sense of judgement for this comrade to openly identify with us, but I want to call out the double standards! On a daily basis, we have seen military officers and police officers supporting NRM openly, some to a point of wearing NRM t-shirts inside their army uniform. Yet, every soldier or police officer who even shows sympathy to the forces of change is

Why Pastors in Uganda Are Eyeing 2021 General Elections.

At 55 years old, Archbishop Janani Luwum was more than half the age of Christianity in Uganda. Preparations to celebrate the centenary of the Christian faith in the country were in high gear. The month was February. The year, 1977. The celebrations were just four months away. But before they could take part in the centenary, the Anglican bishops in Uganda had a message for the head of state. They were concerned about the tyranny and gross human rights violations in the country. And they wanted to draw their concerns to Idi Amin, the president at the time. On Feb. 8, 1977, the bishops listed their concerns and tasked the archbishop himself with delivering their protest letter to Amin. Luwum obliged. Eight days later, in retaliation, Amin invited a delegation, including religious leaders, and informed them that he had received evidence of treason against the archbishop. Later that evening, Luwum was shot dead. The government claimed he died in a motor accident. Amin was not h

Joining Politics Should Not be About Escaping Yourself from Poverty - President Museveni Narrating.

4th-September-2020 NRM Party Primary Elections. I spent the day in Mbarara and Sembabule districts, where I met NRM parliamentary aspirants and other officials from the two districts plus Isingiro, Kirihura and Kazo.  It is important for those seeking leadership positions in the NRM to appreciate our ideology. People are fighting hard to go to Parliament because MPs unilaterally increased their salaries. They earn more than our scientists and other critical professionals.  I tried to discourage them but they insisted. Now, people want to leave their jobs and go to Parliament to earn high salaries. And yet this should not be the motivation to seek parliamentary seats, it should be about serving their people.  Politics is working for the people, to help them get out of poverty and solve their problems. It should not be about you the contestant escaping from poverty yourself.  For those who were violent in the party primaries, including those who masterminded it, we shall arre

NRM Party Primary Elections; Congolese Been Ferried to Vote, and Tribalism Talks Caused Hon Ajedra Gabriel Aridru to Fail in Vurra Constituency.

4th-September-2020 NRM Party Primary Elections for Parliamentary Seats. Good morning my Beloved people of Vurra Constituency. I wish to issue the following communique regarding the recently concluded NRM Election in Vurra Constituency.   After a meeting with family and close friends, I have decided NOT to File a Petition, even though the lawyers say the grounds are valid. Such as chasing my agents from some polling places, Congolese coming to vote, manipulation of the tallying sheets by election officials,  etc. There is no such thing as free and fair elections in many parts of Africa and the world.  When you hear some respected leaders saying Vurras ( here I mean Vurra Subcounty ) have "eaten" enough, its time for Logiri.  I refuse to be associated with such sectarian politics and rudimentary discussions.   I do not want to be a leader responsible for divisive politics in Vurra Constituency.   I know many will be unhappy with my decision but never the less I had

Congolese Been Ferried to Vote in Uganda! That is Pan-africanism - Minister Anite Evelyn Lamenting.

Anite on NBS TV: I commend the majje (armed forces) for doing a good job in Koboko. I told them not to side with any candidate. Moderator Sabiiti asks Anite: You are on record saying Congolese travelled to Uganda to vote during NRM primaries, where were the majje when Congolese crossed into Uganda? Anite: "One of the NRM principles is pan-Africanism. I'm happy that the majje respected pan-Africanism." Sabiiti: Congolese voting in Uganda is not pan-Africanism.

Aspiring Arua Central Division Mayor Baguma Saidy, the Innocent And Humanity Minded Person.

He is not like this other contestant who got entangled in Brian J. White Money in July-2018. He is not a Land Grabber. He has never spearheaded evicting some people in OLI and participated in burning their houses on false and ridiculous accusations of Witchcraft and so on. Mr Baguma has a path many people yearn to emulate. He had and he still continues to have a good reputation. Infact, each of his footprints bear not that of some curtain politicians but rather bears the footprint of a complete Leader. He (Mr Baguma) feels pity when somebody or some people are been treated with injustice. He is aspiring on Independent Ticket, for the seat of Mayor Arua Central Division 2021 to 2026. #VoteBagumaSaidy For further informations,  click here  to read more.

Cynet Takes Cyber Threat Protection Automation to the Next Level with Incident Engine.

We have all heard of the "cybersecurity skills gap" — firms' inability to hire and retain high-level cybersecurity talent. I see this gap manifesting in two ways. First, companies that want to hire cybersecurity talent simply cannot find candidates with sufficient skills. Second, companies that cannot afford specialized cybersecurity talent and therefore lack the necessary skills to adequately protect their organizations from the growing and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Both of these are real problems, and both can lead to devastating consequences. It's also fair to say that most cybersecurity teams today are overworked and understaffed. One of the primary reasons we need such high-level cybersecurity skills lies in the shortcomings of cybersecurity technologies. Due to the changing and increasingly sophisticated stream of attack techniques, the breadth and depth of cybersecurity defensive technologies used to combat these threats and protect organization

Freedom of Expression Does Not Need License - Amnesty International Tells UCC as it Condemns Directive by Government to License Bloggers, Social Media Influencers and Online News Publishers in Uganda.

Amnesty International has condemned Uganda government's move through UCC to license online posts, calling it a fresh assault on freedom of expression. Deprose Muchena, Amnesty International’s Director for East and Southern Africa said: “The requirement for people to seek authorisation before posting information online is retrogressive and a blatant violation of the right to freedom of expression and access to information. With restrictions on public gatherings already in place, the Ugandan authorities are shutting off a vital channel for people to express their political opinions and share critical information about COVID-19”. "Freedom of expression does not need a license," he added.

NRM Party Primary Elections; You Will End in Jail instead of Parliament if You Think, You Can Alter False Figures on Piece of Paper Known as Declaration Form, And that Will Give You the Flag Bearership! - President Museveni.

Countrymen, Countrywomen and, especially, the Bazzukulu.  I am still reading the responses to my communication of yesterday on the NRM Primaries. I will reply in detail later. However, I want, for now, to repeat a few points. By going back to lining behind candidates, the NRM laid a good trap for the cheaters (the riggers).  The voting is done and concluded in each village and the scores are witnessed by hundreds of People. It is shallow criminality to think that you can enter false numbers on a piece of paper known as DR form and that that will give you the flag. You will end in prison for forgery and subversion instead of Parliament. An audit of village by village will expose you.  The villages have not shifted. They are still there. Even if you bribe the agents of the victim candidate to tell lies, the People who voted are there. They will bring out the facts. The lining up method was used until the 1995 Constitution. It had stopped rigging that time. Rigging came back w

BEWARE ATM CARD USERS. New PIN Verification Bypass Flaw Affects Visa Contactless Transactions.

Even as Visa issued a warning about a new JavaScript web skimmer known as Baka, cybersecurity researchers have uncovered a new flaw in the company's EMV enabled cards that enable cybercriminals to obtain funds and defraud cardholders as well as merchants illicitly. The research, published by a group of academics from the ETH Zurich, is a PIN bypass attack that allows the adversaries to leverage a victim's stolen or lost credit card for making high-value purchases without knowledge of the card's PIN, and even trick a point of sale (PoS) terminal into accepting an unauthentic offline card transaction. All modern contactless cards that make use of the Visa protocol, including Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, and V Pay cards, are affected by the security flaw, but the researchers posited it could apply to EMV protocols implemented by Discover and UnionPay as well. The loophole, however, doesn't impact Mastercard, American Express, and JCB. The findings will be presen

Evilnum Hackers Targeting Financial Institutions (Banks, Saccos) With a New Python-Based RAT.

An adversary known for targeting the fintech sector at least since 2018 has switched up its tactics to include a new Python-based remote access Trojan (RAT) that can steal passwords, documents, browser cookies, email credentials, and other sensitive information. In an analysis published by Cybereason researchers on 3-September-2020, the Evilnum group has not only tweaked its infection chain but has also deployed a Python RAT called "PyVil RAT," which possesses abilities to gather information, take screenshots, capture keystrokes data, open an SSH shell and deploy new tools. "Since the first reports in 2018 through 4-September-2020, the group's TTPs have evolved with different tools while the group has continued to focus on fintech targets," the cybersecurity firm evilnum. "These variations include a change in the chain of infection and persistence, new infrastructure that is expanding over time, and the use of a new Python-scripted Remote Access Trojan (RAT
